Go Martina & Maccy!
I knew about Martina's anger towards Court (apart from common sense she's got personal reasons for it) but Maccy joined her in a totally non-personal support of a good cause. Well done guys! The recognition of Court, the most pathetic one in tennis world, must cease, sooner or later, if one is to believe in right ethics surrounding said world.
Maccy's flamboyant comments should also help this cause. Keep commenting Johnny Mac, until TA officials, who are "not serious" ATM, finally understand that your & Martina's play is "on the line", and the arena name should be changed.
piss off you self-righteous cockroach, who the fuk are you to tell how the Aussies should recognize their greatest female player ever? Navratilova is an attention seeking twisted homo feminist, and JMac was being an idiot trying to keep himself being relevant as a 'modern' someone. TA should've kicked both out, bottom line is they clearly breached the rules...….who gave them permission to clown around at Melbourne park? JMac is hired as a commentator only, now who the fuk asked Navratilova for her opinion?

I don't like religious fanatics as well but in this case I must support one. If I was Australia I would simply declare McEnroe (good grief every time I see the guy talk I like him less) and Navratilova persona non grata and kick them out of the country.

Any 60-year-old man wearing an earring shouldn't be allowed to leave home. Rockers excluded of course.

Thank you for excluding us, I have no plans to lose my earring when I get to 60... wait, I lost it already, some idiot rip it out of my ear during a football match. That hurt by the way. need to put another one in place, good that you reminded me.

My friend who is at the AO this year for the 2 weeks, emailed me and said the courts are much slower than last year. The AO did get them resurfaced before the AO, by a Spainsh Company.

That's absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the info. A certain Spanish player likes dog slow courts and they get it resurfaced by Spaniards. Comical.

Nadal's game has evolved throughout the years. When he was younger, he probably prefers the high-bouncing slow court because he still have his legs and speed to chase down every shot.

However, as he got older and he started to lose that athleticism, speed, and became more aggressive with his approach, he started to prefer the high-bouncing fast court.

Djokovic is the one that loves "slow" court specifically the low-bouncing slow court because he can defend all day without having trouble.

Federer always prefers low-bouncing fast court throughout his career because he can remain aggressive and uses his slices/variety to defend on baseline rallies.

Barty plays like Fed so she prefers fast and low bouncing. Yes?

From some accounts its speculated they did this to favor home favorite WTA Barty.

Either way it's a joke tbh. The USO has been slowed down as has Wimbledon. It was a breath of fresh air when the AO actually played decent speed in 2017 and I'm not simply saying that as Federer won but because faster courts reward shot making skills and result in more winners and downright more enjoyable tennis for many people who appreciate actual tennis over defensive rallying and endless running.

The surface is slow and low bouncing which helps Djoke the most, according to analysts.

Except in the daytime if the temp is high, the balls fly. and high bouncing
Cooler conditions at night making the balls fluff up and it is harder to hit through the court.

Seeing mens matches now will be played at night it does favor Novak

Heat Wave conditions again in Melbourne today, though there is a change coming with showers and cooler conditions.

I liked the days when this court favored offensive and defensive players,to me it is fair, compared to the surface it is today.

Barty won the French,I like that she has so much variety in her game and it can win on all surfaces, her favorite surface is Grass, she was a junior Wimbledon champion.

I think Djokovic and Nadal are roughly equal when it comes to defending.

Which , to be fair, Novak had great success with that faster surface also.

Of course but slow is the main wish for him.
I posted a video in the main AO thread over a week ago, which I guess you missed. The ESPN team discussing that the courts had been slowed down, that the balls were heavy and to heavier as they played. There notion was that it favored Djokovic most, of the men, Nadal only somewhat, because of the low bounce, and Federer least, of the 3. But Martina noted was that it favored Ash Barty's game, if you were looking for a reason. You always jump to a Spanish conspiracy. And, on top of that, you make one-dimensional, knee-jerk judgements when you hear that a court is slow. Please try to keep up.
