I posted a video in the main AO thread over a week ago, which I guess you missed. The ESPN team discussing that the courts had been slowed down, that the balls were heavy and to heavier as they played. There notion was that it favored Djokovic most, of the men, Nadal only somewhat, because of the low bounce, and Federer least, of the 3. But Martina noted was that it favored Ash Barty's game, if you were looking for a reason. You always jump to a Spanish conspiracy. And, on top of that, you make one-dimensional, knee-jerk judgements when you hear that a court is slow. Please try to keep up.

Navratilova is clearly clueless because Ash Barty plays aggressive tennis so fast and low bouncing or, at the very least, medium fast and low bouncing would be best for her game and not this surface so there's no need to keep up. Trying not defending Nadal every post for even just 1 day.

The clown directors are slowing courts to make for more endless rallying cos they think most people like watching that crap but real fans of tennis don't. If I wanted to watch running I'd watch athletics.

That's absolutely hilarious. Thanks for the info. A certain Spanish player likes dog slow courts and they get it resurfaced by Spaniards. Comical.
no Spanish player in final this year...

Margaret posted the same thing about Ash, so it appears widely reported and you are perhaps alone in your thinking. I wouldn't have to defend Nadal from you if you weren't so full of conspiracy paranoia.

Moxie won't be happy but...injured Jowill pulled out of Rotterdam, don't know when he'll be back

JWS should really give it up! I feel terrible for him and others like Tommy Haas! Some just aren't destined to get the most out of their abilities! Even Rafa probably should have done more but for his body betraying him! I'd have more sympathy for him if he didn't work so hard exacerbating his issues! Players breaking down will be horrible with how fast the game is played! It's already "out of control" with players routinely needing to take time off the court due to some kind of physical breakdown!

Max Purcell and Luke Saville are the first all-Australian men's pairing to reach the doubles final, since Todd Woodbridge and Mark Woodforde in 1998.They were handed a wild card into the tournament. The unseeded Australians defeated fourth seed Ivan Dodig/Filip Polasek to reach the final .They will play 11th seeds R.Ram and J.Salisbury.Now they have the opportunity to break a 22 year drought in Australian' men's tennis. The men's doubles final will be played today from 3.00pm AEDT.

2 people = widely reported? That's good to know. Aggressive players don't like slow courts for obvious reasons and that's all there is to it.

Two people on this forum, who live on different continents. Meaning that I posted a video of it being discussed amongst 4 commentators on ESPN, and Margaret has her finger on the pulse of things down there, has a friend who did the entire fortnight there, and would surely hear from different sources than I do. Don't be deliberately obtuse, just because you really wanted it to be some Spanish conspiracy in Rafa's favor. I understand about aggressive players and slow courts, of course, but the discussion was what type of slow they are, plus that the balls are very heavy, and one player it seemed meant to help was Ash Barty, though it didn't help enough, obviously.

It can't possibly help Ash Barty to play on a slow court ever or any aggressive player.

LOL, didn’t she win the French Open, her best result ever in a Major was on red clay.?

Certain types of aggressive players actually do well in slower surfaces, Robin Soderling anyone?

Sad to say my young Aussie's were defeated in their doubles final against R.Ram/J.Salisbury (11) 64 62.They can hold their heads high granted a WC and going all the way to the final.

From the commentary I've been listening to, the balls seem to be in for a load of criticism from the players. Fast initially, they fluff up quickly and slow down a lot.
That was part of the video I posted, which no one saw, and I can't seem to find again. That the balls fluff up quickly and get really heavy. This has been out there for the whole tournament. I'm surprised it's still coming up like it's news.

While Novak’ s father is critizing the AO crowd because they were on the Thiem side the others parents are enjoying in South Africa
