And he couldn’t do it on the court? He had to leave for that?

Do you really want your opponent to see how hampered you are, especially if the physio is doing a back breaker on you? It's quite possible they also have better facilities inside eg a bed or bench to stretch out on properly for proper physio treatment. Bottom line (and wait for it cos pun intended), you said you'd pay $53000 to watch Nadal pick his ass on court and not even hit a tennis ball but you're complaining about Federer going off court for treatment. Okkkkkkay.

It would be nice to see Federer beat Djokovic, he has not won against him 2015 WTF, but ok Wimbledon was the big one. Honestly that's a really big monkey on Federer's back it's almost 4 years now

Speaking of 4 years and monkies, your beloved Nadal had only beaten old man Federer once in 4 years since 2015 and only on clay.

Congratulations to Grigor on the win last evening. Did Roger lose the match last evening sure he did as he was not his usual self, but that does not take away anything from the play of Grigor last night. Sure Grigor had his moments where he seemed like he wanted to choke this match away as well, but he also had moments of brilliant play as well. In the end Grigor did what he had to do to get the job done and he should be congratulated for his efforts.
Agree with your first point. Grigor played good, but for me it always takes something away from a win when your win depends mostly on the poor play of the Opponent.
Think we agree that Roger would won in 3 or 4 sets if he showed his normal level, let alone what he showed in his previous matches.

Yea that you said is fact, but least nadal has a win over Federer this season, with Nadal leading 4 sets to 3 Federer has 0 wins against Djokovic, in that some time era, also not be making surface excuses, if Federer can't beat Nadal on clay that's he's fault.

People have to understand that Nadal would have had the slam record a long time ago if he wasn’t injured 100 times in his career. So it’s only fair that Djokovic and Federer have now struggled a little bit by having 10% of Nadal’s career injuries while Nadal is healthy and fufilling his true potential, especially because of how their two fanbases have laughed at Nadal’s injuries year after year. Nadal will end up being the undisputed GOAT and everyone with a little bit of Tennis knowledge knew this along time ago.
At least you admit they are really handicapped . Not this fake injury bullshit of some fanatic bastards.
Enjoy it, I congratulate you and Rafael, he earns it, nobody can beat him. Draw and injury associated outs are not his fault.
A big strength of him is that he is the most resistent against upsets.

I don’t feel bad for him because it’s still worth $53,000 to watch the GOAT Nadal even if he’s standing there just picking his butt and not even hitting a ball. A true legend and we are all honoured to be living in the same planet as him.
I would not pay even a penny, more so, they would need to pay me in order to even look at him.

You know what I am new here and I wasn't going to speak out on this, but this whole Nadal and Federer back and forth bickering is ridiculous. My favorite male player on the tour right now is Rafa, but that doesn't put anything against how great of a career Federer has put together. Of course as players age there is going to be decline in their game and unfortunately we are seeing that in Federer's game, but that doesn't take away how great of a player he was. I just feel all this bickering between the Nadal backers and Federer backers is senseless. This is just my opinion. Just enjoy the tennis.

I hear you. As the (perhaps) now lone Fedal fan (used to be a Fed fan, but now a Nadal fan), I get both sides. I root for Rafa, unless either he isn’t there (such as Basel) or gets knocked out early, at which point I’ll root for Roger. But the truth is Korea will become unified and Tibet will become free again before the Fedal wars end. I hope that doesn’t discourage you, though, because there’s a lot more to get out of here than that.

(We have an unwritten no-moderation policy, so @kskate2 and I rarely intervene.)

Why did you switch from Federer to Nadal?

It doesn't discourage me. I will rarely speak my mind and I will rarely get involved in any of that sort of stuff because I feel it is better to just discuss the tennis, but there are times where I think things get out of hand. I do think this site seems to have great knowledgeable and enthusiastic members and with that sometimes messages can go way overboard. I guess it is like the old saying, "Shit Happens".

You are a breath of fresh air that will most likely fall on deaf ears. As Tented said, the Fedal wars are keeping the lights on here. I ignore most of it and that's saying a lot from someone who's an admin here. :D

I understand it and why it happens. I suppose if there was and internet back in the day there would have been a Lendl and John McEnroe or something of that sort rivalry on a Tennis forum as well. It happens, but name calling and personal attacks are what I find unwarranted.

For the record, the Ancient One’s worst USO loss is still the Tommy Robredo QF of six years ago.

Chris Evert once said that the older you get, you just can’t automatically turn on the tunnel vision in matches anymore, no matter how high the stakes. The brain just won’t kickstart. So the match became “work” and you start to wonder out on the court why you’re still playing.

I sensed this was a match that Federer wasn’t feeling it mentally, he knew it and hoped he could bluff his way through because we’re talking Dimitrov
