I'm still mostly unimpressed with him and the next gen. The tour hasn't had a good young player since Del Po.
I think Tsitsipas is the most promising of the lot mate. I liked his demeanour out there today. The result isn't all that surprising as Rafa presents a unique problem particularly for one handers. Clearly he has some work to do from a match up perspective. He'll be better next time

What was he doing? I didn't see the warm-up.
BB..Stefanos was ripping the ball like he was targeting practicing..especially when Rafa was at the net..he didn’t want to give Rafa any type of decent warmup.. I had a few clowns pull that tactic during some USTA tournaments..they got cocky so your boy AP had to take them out quickly..it’s good to play with an edge.. I found it to be a real icebreaker for the pre and early match nerves.

I like him a lot, too. He's got belief, though it got a bit squashed today. It doesn't make you a joke to lose to Rafa playing this well in the SF of a Major. Rafa wasn't going to give it up without a big fight.

Sad stuff that Nadal is in the final but a small silver lining is that Tsitsipas hype will die down.
It was becoming absolutely nauseating in the past few days.
Chung 2.0(defeated poor version of Federer instead of Djokovic).
Such a crappy ROS won't cut it at the top level.

I said I was unimpressed. And that his performances were overrated. This wasn't. He played very well.

Nadals level(which was high) notwithstanding I think his return game has serious issues.
I still think Zverev is the best of the next gen(his terrible Grand Slam performance is just pegging him back a lot).

Bro, I said after that match that Tsitsipas didn't really do anything impressive. Roger was at worse than 2013 levels.
Bro..I hope that you’re don’t have kids or nephews that play sports..your expectations towards pro athletes is truly unbelievable..If Roger converts those break points, he sails through the Greek kid in typical Roger form.

Re: Stefanos...

He's good. He has the right attitude too. But I haven't seen anything too special yet. He's super young so I'm not criticizing and he's got the serve and a potentially elite forehand (not nearly there yet), but he needs to pick up the movement (yeah he moves well, but the barometer set by the previous/current greats is pretty high) and his ability to defend and turn defense into attack. No transition game yet, at all.

Its clear that nadal is goat if he wins AO, because the French open is just around the corner so he will be at 19 slams with more masters, superior h2h and a gold mental Olympics singles.:yesyes::yahoo:

You seem to be rather in the minority. A lot of us are not sad that Nadal is in the final, (haters aside,) and we don't think that Tsitsipas is over-hyped. All of this sad sack is because Roger lost, right? Tennis moves on, sweetie. You need to get over that a bit.

Do you think we’ll see another teenager win a major?

that will come. His serve could be a lot better given his size. Nothing wrong with it technically, he'll learn how to use it better. You're absolutely correct about his transition game, it just highlights how difficult it is in this era (without serve and volley as a pre-requisite) to come out with a fully formed game. I simply can't see any young sub- 20yr old ever doing what the likes of Rafa and Becker were able to. Unless they develop some new weapon I can't even imagine now

Of course I was talking about myself (not anyone else) though you could be surprised by the amount of Nadal haters ;-):

Nah I called him overhyped even after that Canada run(Nothing to do with Federer-that loss was more upsetting because Federers level has gone down),didn't call overhyped after 4R upset because people would assume that was out of bitterness.
I think even RBA would've defeated him here if he was not tired.

I could not watch the match but I had the TV on just before I had to leave, and the match was about to start. They were filming Tsitsipas standing alone waiting in the match call area, and he was staring right back at the camera. Probably cooked out there for a long time. Right there I knew he was toast....

Maybe everything changes when the Big 3 are done. For as promising as some of the NextGen is, there is nothing that says anyone is going to be the same kind of future HOF like Fed/Nadal/Djokovic. In the ensuing scrum, a teenager to-be-named later could emerge. Though it does seem less likely. But Becker, Rafa and Borg were supernovas. If a supernova shows up, I bet we'll notice.

I think tsitsipas Will win at least one major most likely on hard courts, it could take a few years, so wait he's more talented than federer was at the some age.
