The organizers were not supporting D minor to have more rest after his win in Sidney where he had to play 2 matches on Saturday.
He asked for his match to be moved to Tuesday, but he was denied. He complained on the media about it.

When D-Minor plays is completely determined by which half he is in. I agree with the organizers that it should not be changed.
But, I think he will pull it off, even if inefficiently doing so.

At least Sydney and Auckland are wise enough to schedule the final on Saturday nowadays. I guess once upon a time it used to be on sunday.

I certainly would not blame D-Minor for playing in both Brisbane and Sydney. Hey, it is a home tourney and he is not expected to win AO. In fact, he probably did not think that he would win Sydney either. If he did not win Sydney, he would have had plenty of time to recover.

True. His serve looked good but he lacked the technique. He did well to avoid long points but he was simply inferior. A slightly better player could have made that match interesting, considering that he broke Nadal twice.
Is that what makes him a "clown?"

#237 breaking Rafa when Rafa was serving for the match and that too at love is priceless.
Watching you troll options for Rafa losing at a major is one of my favorite/not favorite hobbies. :smooch:

I thought Isner woul do quite well this year... but looking in severe trouble.
Actually, I think Isner is on a down-slide, and Opelka is on the "buy" side. I won't be shocked if Isner loses today.

Isner wins the third set tiebreak to keep himself alive.

I'm watching De Minaur / Sousa. Sousa's no pushover.
That Sousa in not Joao who everybody knows but Pedro which is not as good as the Joao

Yep. Just been broken be De Minaur who will serve for the second set. Pedro's got nice power when he opens up but no real game plan here.

The unknown Sousa made a respectable showing, but de Miñaur through in straights. I think he's got more than just a lot of running around, as Britbox claims.

Interested to know where I said "all he does is runs around a lot".

I said he had great wheels and a good head but lacked big weapons (and it was relative to guys like Tsipitas in regards to full potential). Hewitt put it well... "he might turn out to be the Michael Chang of the era".

Fair enough...poor paraphrasing on my part.

Good start for Nadal. If he stays fit, he should reach the final or more I think.
