It looks like Andy Murray WILL NOT play Wimbledon after all. He decided to withdraw today...

He hadn't a hope tbh so it's the right move. Lost 2 out 3 matches at best of 3 since he came back. Not a fan of the guy but I still hope his movement improves enough to be a decent player again but it's 50/50 at this stage. Even a 5% drop off in physicality and he's toast as he knows no other way to play except run, run, retrieve, rinse and repeat.

He plays aggressively once in a blue moon and is good at it when he does but he always reverts back to passive, defensive running and if he can't move as well as before, he won't be elite anymore.

Bit of a prick it has to be said that this is now his second time withdrawing AFTER the draw was done. Should be fined to be honest. A LOT. Till he gets the fucking message. Don't do it after the draw.

I have to say I agree. Once is fine but now again? It's just a dick thing to do

Totally agree except I think even the first time was inexcusable. He is one of the best in the world and he knows a lot earlier than the day before the event if he can be competitive without risking injury.

Ironically enough Sir (lol) Andy the great thinks he's so high and mighty it's ok for him to do this but tell Rosol "nobody likes you". Well, guess what, Andy? A lot less people like you now for doing this twice! Numbnuts. His popularity with fellow players is also taking a major hit for messing up the draws at 2 slams now.

That's sad though it's the best thing to do if he doesn't feel up to it & I hope he's back to normal soon.

You forget that Andy is not seeded now. So, there is no need to rebalance the draw. A lucky loser will get Andy's place directly. There is absolutely no harm done when an unseeded player withdraws at the last moment.

What he did at USO last year was bad as he was seeded.

He made the right call. He waited for the draw to see whether he gets a kind draw. But, his draw is brutal. He plays Benoit Paire in the first round who took a set off of Fed in Halle. If he manages to win he playes either Chardy or Shapo. Chardy is having phenomenal success on grass this season and Shapo is Wimby Boy's champ in 2016. If he wins that, he faces JMDP. There is no need to even talk about the later rounds. He stands no chance of reaching second week.

It is best for him to ease into the competition via 3 set matches and gradually get ready for 5 set matches.

Murphy is a self entitled jerk that is why he doesn't care what effect it has if he withdraws after the draw.

No, Carol. I'm talking about Nadal funnily enough. Federer got landed a very tough draw with the big servers and is scheduled to meet Cilic in the semis if they both make it that far. I'm predicting Cilic as the title winner personally so that's NOT an easy draw.
Maybe Roger will ask Mirka if he can borrow some Kleenex for Cilic..Give me a break ..you are worried about him.I hope he is across the net vs Rafa for the final..Rafa will kick his Azz

If Roger had Rafa's draw non of you Fed fans that are bitchin wouldn't say a damn thing about Andy's late withdrawal ..I said 3 weeks ago that Andy had at best 1 5 set match at best in him ..Andy is a proper chap so lay off and live with the his decision .I have notbing but respect for Sir Andy

No reason for either of you to get into it so much. As @GameSetAndMath has pointed out, with Murray not seeded, it really doesn't affect the draw. And if he's not ready to play, it affects it even less.

I disagree. When he dropped out of the USO it was really hard to understand, as the #2 seed, how he didn't know that he wasn't fit. And his draw was a dream, so he wasn't even waiting for that. And it really left the draw unbalanced. As GSM has pointed out, he's not seeded this time. Also, he's been trying to come back, as been clear. This go around, a) it doesn't affect the draw, and b) it feels more understandable.

You did try to make it about how it affected the draw, in terms of what Fed fans would complain about. It doesn't really matter that he withdrew, but yes, Front is being much more dramatic.
