I'm not even gonna bother debate that nonsense with you again re Roddick. Yes, he was a great player despite the fact that you've tried to tell this whole forum he was no better than a college player. He would've won 5-6 slams if not for Federer and had Novak's number in his prime and finished with a winning h2h. Not too shabby. Many people have poor, selective memory when it comes to Roddick as he was a mere shell of his former self in his last years on tour. Like Federer, Roddick's forehand was once a beast and turned to crap as he got older but in his prime his serve and forehand were beastly. It went all loopy and crap in his latter years but when he hit it flat and hard in his prime he was an animal.
I thought Fiero and I checked on you being so smitten by Roddick tennis game

Lajovic will be a good test for Federer because he is able to hold serve and has a good forehand. However, he can not hit consistently. Lajovic is a poor man’s Borna Coric.

Lajovic got a free lesson in grass court tennis from Roger last year, so I suspect it'll be more like "good practice for Roger" rather than a "good test."

We should have zero tolerance policy on Fedal wars (after all there is a dedicated thread for it) on this thread until a rematch happens.
I really have no appetite to read 10 more pages about 2008 Wimbledon. :help:

The same dullards talking about Wimbledon and it still has not starting. Hey, this is a new season and year, nothing to do with the last year, we'll see what is going on......

Yes, you can definitely be more confident with the draw he got this year alright. It's like a gift from the gods or throwing the old dog a bone.

Lajovic is no slouch on grass. With the Federer we have seen recently, Lajovic may steal a set or more. However, I think Federer wins this match. I am hoping that Federer improves from what we saw at Halle.

Agreed. And same on the Rankings Thread, except where directly applicable.

I made one post in the ranking thread and it has direct relevance as it is talking about the #1 ranking situation depending on what happens in Wimbledon. I was the first one to make that observation in that thread. I also made one follow up post which has direct bearing on my original post, which is considered unoriginal by you.

No, Carol. I'm talking about Nadal funnily enough. Federer got landed a very tough draw with the big servers and is scheduled to meet Cilic in the semis if they both make it that far. I'm predicting Cilic as the title winner personally so that's NOT an easy draw.

My comment was actually more general and not pointed at you. We 3 with Darth were getting into a bit of a discussion over there which was grass season and not rankings. I do think it's best to leave that one pretty clean, as I said when responded on the grass season thread. And we should discuss Wimbledon here, not old Fedal matches. So I agree with you. Though, in fairness, Wimbledon hasn't started yet.

Who cares? What's Novak's v Stan? Stan has deprived him of 2 big titles. h2h means nothing, it's how you play on the day. If it all came down to h2h everyone would be a millionaire from betting.
Stan pay his dues to defeat Novak.. he suffered some tremendous losses at AO.. he earned both RG and US victories over Novak..Stan didn’t deprive Novak of a damn thing. He earned it the “Smith Barney” way

It looks like Andy Murray WILL NOT play Wimbledon after all. He decided to withdraw today...

Never said he didn't. My point was in reply to your question of what is Nadal's h2h v Rosol and I used Stan v Novak as an example because his h2h still sucks versus him but h2h is a largely meaningless stat imo. Re Rosol though, he was a botched point from being up 2 sets to 0 again second time he played Nadal at Wimbledon which proved it was no fluke (nothing to do with the roof or any of the BS Nadal fans try and claim) and Nadal barely beat him at Basel 2014 in a 3rd set TB, having lost the first set 6-1.
