I wouldn't count the Fog out yet. He's completely unpredictable and capable of raising his game at any minute

This kid has a great attitude. I don't think top 10 ever like Mac says unless he gains 30 pounds and 2 inches.

This kid has no ROS either, he could've made this a bit tighter if he had one

Nice game. Good chance he can still grow a bit, or at least fill out.

Alex De Minaur has nothing to be ashamed of. He did a decent job. I like the fact that he became better as the match progressed (doubling the number of games won in each set) instead of the other way. It shows that he is a quick learner. Also, I liked the fact that he saved two match points delaying Rafa's win.

Congrats to Rafa on moving on to second week and for retaining #1 (most probably until the end of USO).

Unfortunately, this is a different league for Alex at his stage of development. But, I am sure he has a bright future.

Anything can happen in the next 4-5 years when the greats are retired and this kid has time to tuneup his game.

Nadal has done his job. Securing #1 till USO. Any more wins from now will be a pure bonus. He can relax and play Wimbledon now without any pressing concerns.

This is the difference between him and Fed. Fed blows it, time and time again. Couldn't convert 3 MPs against DP on his own bloody serve. Couldn't get it back in Miami losing in the 2nd Rd to freaking Kokk even after winning the first set. And then couldn't secure it till wimbledon by losing to Coric.

I'm sorry when you can't hold your end of the deal when you have chance after chance, you simply don't deserve it.

Rafa looked better today than round 1, and what I could gather from round 2.

GSM is getting too optimistic these days, a guy with no serve or forehand is not beating Nadal on this high bouncing surface.

Come on, I did not call for the upset. See my projection in the upset thread and also my scouting report in this thread.

What makes you think that more wins are a bonus? I think he actually hopes to win Wimbledon, which is the main reason why he is in the draw.
The comparisons you are making here do not make sense.

In fairness, you didn't. And I could tell you were hoping hard for it, but you concluded that ADM wouldn't beat him.

Wimbledon is Nadull's worst slam so winning it would be an absolute bonus. It would be like Federer winning another RG but ofcourse Fed doesn't even play it cause Nadal is always in it to block him in the final.
