Good point Moxie. I'd add to it, that prolonged longevity of tennis elite that we're observing nowadays can be attributed to better "technologies", mainly medical care, recovery, nutrition, etc. Who would have thought in e.g. Borg times that top players could maintain top form past their 30s into mid 30s? I remember past rumours that your favourite player - Nad, with his taxing game style, should have retired early, just like Borg. I also remember when Fed won his 17th GS (wimby), they've been speculating how his chances of winning more GS drop significantly after being 30 years old (he was 31 at the time) and predicting it could have been his last. Both have been injured and both recovered to (or near) their best levels negating all negative rumours. We can be sure they enjoy unexpectedly long careers thanks to improvements in sport medicine. Miraculously long, I'd say. Even Fed himself is surprised because few years back he was saying he wanted to play until Rio Olympics 2016. BTW, will he start saying the same about Tokyo 2020 soon? But I digress. My point is: I believe the same miracle that keeps Fedal on top will play out for Sir Andy, to the benefit of brit fans.Everyone keeps saying the same. But technologies do improve. I'll give him the next 12 months to make something out of his recovery. I hope he can.
Watching Nadull move like a cow on ice in the first week is probably the most beautiful sight in tennis.
You have a rare ability among us, to introduce interesting & funny nicknames (ignoring the fact they are rude sometimes) that make me smile. Enjoyable stuff. Is e.g. 'divatrov' your own invention? Congratulations, if so.I knew divatrov will get upset by a GOATing Stanimal.
Unfortunately I don't see a dude named Dudi doing us the honors this year. It'd be epic though, right up there with his loss to the mighty Steve Darcis.

Darcis is a solid serve &volleyer, that cannot be said about Dudi.
I am sure, I watched the second half. Are you sure he was S&V against Nadal? I just remember the guy looking like he was 5'6 and 100 pounds soaking wet. Making it one of the great Nad performances at Wimbledon.
I remember that match too. He had Nads on his heels.I am sure, I watched the second half.
He was coming to the net very often on his serve and winning many points that way. I was thrilled to see him win.

I don't see it either, the courts are baking in this odd London heat which will help dull's bounce. If the far right republicans had taken global warming seriously it would probably be a nice rainy day in London right now.
The weather does make it different, whichever grass.Weather or not it wouldn't matter if this was real grass. Like I said the Wimbledon surface is the clay equivalent of holding RG on a Madrid-like surface. It has obviously benefited players like Nadal and Djoker and hurt Fed a lot.
