I have no problem with that mate. But I think it's naive not think about the overall context. Right from the start I've said 3 things...

(1) Serena was wrong and out of order
(2) Umpire followed the letter of the law
(3) Umpiring was not consistent, and as long as certain players or types of players get the harsher punishments questions about "-ism's" are justifiable.
1 and 2 are all that’s needed to justify Ramos’ call, period. Many things are not consistent, but don’t make alright to do the wrong things or even grant you automatic rights to resort to sexism/racism complaints. Otherwise almost nobody in history should be punished as they can always find inconsistencies being applied to someone else. For you to again talk PC crap, you are a puss.

enough with your twisting and drumming up a vendetta between Ramos and the Williams sisters Bullshit. She was a bad sport and as her anger grew and grew, desperately threw a number of red herrings at the umpire and that's all there was to it.

I give her some credit after the match where she tried to console the young lass from japan and stopped the jeers and booing (or was trying to) but it was Serena's actions that created the situation.
Exactly PC idiots pretend she wasn’t the initiator of the mess and pile crap on the person who did the right thing. This is what’s wrong with people these days, they say anything to suit their agenda.

Hank Aaron the great baseball player said he faced what Serena has faced and is facing in tennis..when he was about to break Babe Ruth record the attacks started .and because Serena is about to break the MC record the tennis hunchos are getting nervous...this will continue.I want Serena to get in the best shape possible and win in 2019..

This is quite silly. I'm not saying that there aren't white people who don't want Serena to break the record--idiots of all kinds live among us (and we're all our own version of idiot, except Ricardo of course)--but that 2018 is very different than the early 1970s. Aaron was actively booed and his life was repeatedly threatened.

You are also completely letting Serena off the hook and ignoring or denying the fact that Ramos followed the letter of the law.

He said nothing about Hank Aaron being silly. He in fact said that his life was threatened. I think that the two things are incomparable. Do you really think the umpire cares about Margaret Court's record? That record is also not that important as it isn't in the Open Era and was beefed up by Aussies.

I'm honestly confused by the we know you people kiwi kiwi that section. Are you calling me a racist? If you are all I said is that I don't think that Serena is getting treated as badly. As Hank Aaron and that the Court record doesn't matter because Serena is already the GOAT well over Court.

after this incident when Serena retires black people will leave you to watch your sport alone...remember Roger and Rafa are getting older and will be retired soon...no one is going to tune in to watch Zverev or Ryan Harrison..the tour will be dry thirsty like the desert...

I don't understand your extreme hatred of white people, tossip, as indicated by the emphasised text above. I don't want to go into expressing my opinion about your hatred because I want to avoid unpleasant discussion. I'm just curious about your motivation here: why do you think tennis "without Serena" will be worthless to all black people? Do you have any data (e.g. opinion polls) that support your statement? I doubt it because such opinion poll (segregating the subjects into races) would be highly illegal in US and most countries, but maybe you do have something? If you don't have anything official, and you base your opinion on your "feelings" or anecdotal stories, can you also elaborate?
Unless you elaborate your reasons, I don't understand you.

PS: For your record, in case you don't know me, I am a white male and a big fan of Serena & Venus in women tennis. So I feel sad that Serena lost her final today & in such a bad style but I wish that she wins in 2019 & improves her on court behaviour at the same time. But I will be even sadder when she retires. I think my sentiments are similar to yours up to this point. But unlike you, I think tennis does not end here: other players will come and fill in the void. Whoever climbs to the top of women's game and replaces Serena (it could be e.g .Osaka) will be judged by her tennis skills and not by her race. And even fans like yourself who hate white players, will continue to come because they will be cheering Osaka.

comments all through the internet and especially trying to intellectualize your bias of this woman clearly put you in that category of folk who pseudo clap ffor her ...in reality you despise her. This incident exposed a lot of people and even losers like Ryan Harrison and Strycova had the audacity to comment on this.

I will not be watching Osaka beause she is boring same with Keys and Sloane...they lack that excitement that Serena generated..

You seem to believe commenting about Serena is tantamount to holding Serena accountable or as you say " letting Serena off the hook." Serena is held accountable. USTA fine and loss of points. Remember?? That you believe you are holding Serena accountable is of no real consequence.

This is false - or rather, I agree with you that my holding Serena accountable for her poor behavior is of no real consequence. But this is a discussion board, isn’t it? We’re discussing. I was talking to tossip, who seems under the impression that Serena can do no wrong.

Where does tossip say "Serena can do no wrong? " Serena has been sanctioned. A fact you can neither confront nor deny. There are players Mr. Ramos let "off the hook" they are not Venus or Serena Williams. Irony.

That’s the point mate. That’s exactly what I’m saying. He must have seen it. They don’t exactly hide it

That is no logic. My friend who was driving at 120 mph was not exactly hiding what he was doing either. He cannot suddenly become inivisible. He just happened to get lucky as the cops were not patrolling at that time and place. By your argument, you are insisting that the cops should have patrolled and should have caught him.

The primary duty of an umpire is to keep the eye on the tennis court. Only as a secondary thing, they can be looking at the boxes etc. As a result it is not uncommon that several coaching violations don't get noticed. Actually, I think the coaching from the box should be allowed, not because it is a good thing, but because it is difficult to enforce the rule.

What Carols Ramos did was right with respect to calling coaching violation. What he did next was also right in assessing point penalty after Serena broke the racquet. However, he should have given her a soft warning (even though not required as per the rules) before assessing her a game penalty in view of seriousness of the penalty and also in view of the fact that it is a GS final match.
