I'm watching Shapo-Tsonga right now and I just love Shapo's game. He seems to have the full package. All that he's missing is experience and maybe tennis IQ, but that can be developed. I think he's a more well-rounded player than any of he other NextGenners, including Zverev, Rublev, etc.

Not to mention "drop dead gorgeous;" well that's something to me anyway! He and Pospisil are 2 of the hottest newbies on the tour; both from Canada! I feel a kinship being born on the island off the coast; Newfoundland! :p  :ptennis:

Surely they're both a matter of taste. Maybe like Poutine. ;)

Better aggression from Jo. If he hangs back, he's going to get smoked.

Tsonga is pressing, as he needs to do.

Experience gets Tsonga into a 5th. Game changed.

Tsonga got back on serve and has clearly rattled Shapo. Will this be like the Woz match?

Pretty disappointing last few games from Shapo. After going up up 2-0, he just seemed to lose his intensity. He looks tired.

The Eurosport announcer is so hugely biased for Tsonga it is really annoying.

@El Dude Shap froze. No other way to put it. Maybe he's not quite ready for the spotlight. This loss could be the medicine he needs to get over that hump.

Tsonga remembering that scaring Shapo by rushing the net is working for him.

For sure, but Tsonga got out of his complacency, too. Denis still has a lot to learn. And he'd only done like 1 5-setter, I think.

How many times have I posted about the next gen? You can give them match point and they'll always find a way to blow it! It's just plain "gutless!" It's so hard to watch happen again and again! This is why the oldster stay around; they know the new bloods can't handle it mentally! With all that power and ability, they self-destruct time and time again! :nono:  :banghead:  :rip:

Poor Shapo! Was up 5-2 in the final set. Had a break pt chance to go up double break. But, did not get it. Finally lost serve
when serving for the match and then eventually lost the match.

But, hats off to great fight. With some more experience, this won't happen again.

Next up for Tsonga is Krigor (likely). That would be interesting too.

Nike is really pushing this pink platform. It's on every Nike male player I see.

And female. Someone should be fired. I don't mind the pink, but the ones that don't look like alert warnings look like they're playing in their underwear, Fed and Nadal included.
