March 19th was the deadline to register for Monte-Carlo. All but 7 of the top 20 players have registered. The missing ones are
Federer, Del Potro, Anderson, Nick and (not surprisingly) the Americans Jack Sock, Sam Querry and John Isner.

will Nole and Stan play ??

Yes, Nole is playing. However, Andy and Stan are not playing. I did not mention their names in the list above, as they are not currently in the top 20. Also, Chung is not playing. That completes the list of all top 32 players who won't be there at MC. The list is of size 10.

Chung is out? Uh-oh...that's going to mess up my draw challenge.

Chung is still showing in the draw. Are you sure he's out?

I wonder why Sock does not do better on clay with all that top spin. Monte Carlo should be a perfect place for him.

Americans grow up on hard courts. They don’t learn to stay patient and construct points.

Too much emphasis on serve in US tennis. Also, the Spanish trainers say that they try to teach the kids to move their feet before they even hand them a racquet. There's got to be something in that.

Top marks to Ferret and his wife for copying the Federers with the name of their kid.

Leo for Fed, Ferrer, and Azarenka. Maybe the name is getting popular in Europe. I don’t think it’s popular in the USA and probably won’t be in the near future.

Leo is also the name of Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem's little boy. Strong and elegant name. Not popular in the US? "Leo" Di Caprio. It's not that far down on the list.

Zimonjic's son is Leon. That sounds ridiculous where he comes from.
