I'd lend you my spectacles if I didn't need them. Lol.
@britbox, I messed up big time, don't know how I could not find the already existing 2018 news thread. Feel free to merge/delete this one. Sorry for the mess.

The new Armstrong stadium at BJK Tennis Center is almost done. You can see a time-lapse video and read about it here. They promise it'll be ready for the USO.

Forgot to note the birthdays of Djokovic yesterday and Murray the Tues. prior. They're a week apart. Both now 31. How time flies. Happy belated to Andy and Nole!

EDIT: Today is Fognini's birthday. He's 31, also.

I'm guessing some with be more excited than others for the upcoming doc on Tennis Channel: "Strokes of Genius." Based on the Wertheim book and revisiting the 2008 Wimbledon final.

Folks keep wondering why Fed is not retiring. Simple answer is that he does not have enough money for retirement in 401(k).

Fed earned $77.2 millions last year and is the #1 tennis player and #4 athlete in earnings for 2017. Andy, Serena and Maria did not make it into top 100 this year.

Well, he has got 4 kids. If he was thinking of sending them to college in the US, he's probably about 4 years away from retirement.

If kids are what it takes to keep him in the sport, I hope Mirka has another pair of twins.

Wasn’t Fed the highest earner for an athlete last year?

Kei Nishikori was pretty high on that list that GSM posted. 35th overall athlete with $34.6m - pretty exceptional seeing that he's never won anything more than an ATP 500.

His earnings are due to where he is from and not due to his results. This is the same story with Li Na and Sania Mirza. Sania Mirza is the worst, she won only one WTA title (I may be slightly off here) in singles, yet she raked in tons of money. That is because she is from India where there are very few women in any kind of sports or athletics. Li Na at least won Grand Slam events. But, she is from China which has a huge marketing potential for advertisers. So, now folks should be able to understand why Nishikori is so high up in the list.

Incidentally, Nishi will be ideal candidate for a wine advertisement. Nishi can come out and say "Great wine, unfortunately in a glass body, just like me", liberate it and put in your tummy.
