I think Rafa can win w/o first set. DP no.

Nadal defended his heart out that game. DP falters. Break.

Rafa is adjusting, and gets early break.

Nadal pulled a classic move. Get everything back and let the big hitter self destruct

But he needs to have a good serving night.

That's the 1-2 he needs to keep working.

well Nadal must have heard Toni and Broken. That's about 4 or 5 FHDTL winners

DP's always implemented a really smart tactic on the Nadal serve, and that is to stand miles back. Gives Nadal virtually no cheap points and he doesn't mind necessarily hitting from far back due to his length and power. I first noticed it when they played at Miami in 2009.

And yes Kate, Rafa definitely going for the DTL forehand a lot more. It bothers me that throughout his career he's often tended to wait till he's behind in these matches to go for it, but better late than never

Haha, but this further highlights the point, if you're playing Nadal, you'll take your chances with him acing you. If he does it, too good. He won't do it often.

Rafa is one of the best at adjusting. I would also have preferred he'd started stronger.

Yes, but you take your chances often and long enough, you will start to miss.
