You can blow as much hot air as you want bro but you are in the less than 1% that think cheating is no big deal. Cyclists take PED's to help them gain superhuman endurance which is naturally a big deal in that sport. It's easy to have a great will for victory if you barely get tired because you're juiced to the max.

The whole crowd who thinks PED's are overrated are simpletons. In the top level of most sports there is not much difference between the best players, even a small (unfair) edge can make all the difference in the world. These players wouldn't risk their health and reputations if PED's barely helped . Lance and Contador ain't champions. You're in the VAST minority if you think they are.

wrong again.

actually there is a world of difference between djokovic and the rest of the world.

he is as superior to the rest of the world as the living are to the dead.

again no amount of money on this earth or any other planet can buy you what djokovic has.

same with superstars in other sports.

again you people just don't get it: they are all doing some form of doping in cycling. that evens the field.

but if lance or anybody else is consistently winning then they are simply better.

take your bloody mindless hate for these athletes somewhere else.

it is pure blind hate. I wonder how you people even sleep at night.

what sharapova took did not give her the game she has had to win those majors. she earned that game with hard work and skills she developed with endless hours of practice. and of course with some natural gifts from the gods.

absolutely no amount of doping will make you even 1/2 as good as Ronaldo and Messi.

General, old man "Sexy Lips" Stepanek finally swatted 6'4 25 year old Pospisil aside like a mosquito who had buzzed around him too long.

Stepanek continues the carnage on younger players, after 32 year old Kohlschreiber beat Thiem to win the Munich title.
30 year old Almagro beat 24 year old Busta to win the Estoril title and earlier, 32 year old Verdasco beat 22 year old Pouille to win the Bucharest title.
The one bright spot (semi-bright) for young players was little 23 year old Diego Schwartzman beating down on self-destructing almost 25 year old Dimitrov to win the Istanbul title.

Unfortunately, the other old man - Roger Federer, has withdrawn from Madrid due to his back tightening up again during practice a couple of days ago.
He said it was quite cold in Switzerland when he was practicing on clay and that might have started the problem. Roger maybe would have been better off practicing in the heat of Dubai.
He hopes to be ready for Rome.

The good news for him?
He has only played 3 matches after the Australian Open, only 3 tournaments (Brisbane, AO, MC) and 13 matches all year, and if Andrew Murray, OBE doesn't make the final,
Roger Federer incredibly rises back up to world #2 prior to Rome.

I think he'll lack enough match play to do well in Paris at Roland Garros, but maybe he was already conceding that.
He has a heavy schedule afterwards starting with the grass season, and then through the hard court season including the Olympics, all the way to the US Open, so maybe the lack of play so far will help him in the end.
He has a different game than someone like Nadal who needs a lot of matches to tune his heavy topspin.

Respectfully,
masterclass

they all dope.

in one form or another they all dope. and there are endless ways to avoid detection.

that does not mean that lance and contador were not the best cyclists on the planet.

doping does not make you a better cyclist. doping might heal your body faster or help you recover faster but does it really matter since they all dope in one form or another.

Yeah, agreed - I don't think Fed needs that much tennis to get back in the swing... A couple of matches in Rome, and a two or three decent run outs in Paris... and it'll be like a reset. I'm more concerned actually that he's talking about his back rather than his most recent injury. Strange things, them backs.

roger is like johhny mac and nastase. he can just jump out of bed and start hitting winners left and right.

back issue is unfortunate. it will force him to lose some ground. he was looking to get some matches under his belt before rome.

I would like to see roger snatch Wimbledon this year. roger could also do well at the Olympics later this year.

as for the old man--stepanek--he has a date with andy murray next in Madrid.

lets see how it goes.

stepanek just does not believe he is old. he is playing doubles with nestor who is 100 years old himself.

wawrinka is done.

his best days are behind him now.
I still think Stan has another year or two of the odd spoiler in him. When he catches fire, like Fognini to a lesser extent, his game is a thing of aggressive beauty. But they're both too erratic emotionally to do enough with it. Stan managed to turn that into two Majors, but I do think his luck on that has probably run out. F3 is younger and has some time, but I don't see him ever turning into a Zen master of consistency.

he's so unpredictable that nobody can say what he'll do tomorrow; remember last year, he played bad on clay before RG then....don't write him off, he could surprise us one more time

Agreed... Wawrinka done? He's had the best two years of his career, 2 grand slam titles and he's won all of his last 9 finals since 2014. He's won Chennai and Dubai this year. Inconsistent? Relatively speaking... compared to the elites... yes, not anybody else. He's played the best tennis of his career the last couple of years.

it gets difficult win titles after 31, let alone slams.

very few names in history that have won slams after 31.

He might not win more slams... I was surprised to see him win any to be frank. But he's won 2 in the last two years... and was hardly building on a legacy. He's a big match player when he's interested... hence 9 final wins in a row when he's got to the final show. He's dangerous... and he might be 31 but he's winning more now than when he was 24,25,26,27 etc...

I agree with this. Wawrinka is still dangerous. He's one of the few guys that's been hitting through Djokovic since Novak 2.0. I'm with you, BB, I'm rather surprised that he has a Major, at all. He hit his stride a some key moments. And Magnus Norman has helped him a lot. I don't think he'll win another Slam, but could he spoil somebody else's run? I think he can.

It is a good loss for any number of reasons.

Now he can go grab some rest and then hit the practice courts really hard.

draw in Rome is terrible for him. It would have been better to meet djokovic in the final there.

That said he still needs a win over djokovic before landing in Paris.
