Murray discusses how ridiculously slow the courts are. If Fed jumps in, we could see some changes next year :D . He also discussed how to generally shorten matches which I found interesting too.

http://www.tennis.com/pro-game/2015/12/murray-slower-courts-increasing-playing-time/56989/#.VmuJAaBX7qA

Roger's been saying the courts are too slow for years and they haven't done anything about it. Sadly, I wouldn't be too hopeful :-/

I've heard the same "song" for years and he also has won 17 GS for years so those courts haven't been so bad for him
Maybe is not all about the courts but the balls?

Well don't forget he won many when they were faster but, yes, the balls are also a problem. They should use the balls the women use. That'd be pretty entertaining. They're a good bit lighter and make play a good bit faster. It's very noticeable at the slams and you often end up scratching your head at how much faster the small little girls are hitting the ball than the guys but it's down to the balls.

:snicker
That's usually the difference between the girls and the boys.

In most instances and places, but not here in the STATES! Plenty have too much to even speak of; in so many ways! :cover :p :eyepop :nono

I wonder if they would have used the lighter (tennis) balls if Del Potro might still be playing.

Rafa to play in Rio Clay ATP 500 in Feb 2016.

So, Rafa's non-mandatory events in 2016 are likely to be the following:

1. Doha 250
2. Rio 500
3. Monte-Carlo 1000
4. Barcelona 500
5. Queens 500
6. Beijing 500
7. Vienna 500

That is actually one more than what can be counted for the rankings. But, if he chooses to miss Tornoto/Cincy (a likely event due to Olympics), then that will also be counted.

When he travels to South America in February, he usually plays more than one event, I would be surprised to see him making the trip only for Rio.

He can do so if he wants. There is always Sao Paulo, the world's best indoor clay tourney in the week after Rio. But, I think he will choose not to do so this year (due to it being the Olympic year).

Apparently. Mauresmo is back in Andy's corner. Also, Andy has got rid of Jones Bjorkman in view of Amelie coming back. But, Andy is still looking for a full time main coach. Amelie will be more of a consusltant and part time coach.

Most people have probably forgotten about Brian Baker, the poor injury ridden American who was quite a good player in 2012 but has barely played much in nearly 3 years. Well, I was just searching for news on him and he's back for the AO 2016. Here's hoping he can stay healthy for good now or at least a lot longer than usual. He has a nice game to watch.

I barely remember this guy; why's he entitled an entry into the AO? There are players who've currently been on tour and still need to qualify! How does he rate? He can't be any better than Johnson who's not exactly lighting up rankings as far as I know! Anybody? :cover :puzzled :nono  :dodgy:

There aren't a whole lot of clips of him in action on Youtube unfortunately and he didn't reach as high a ranking as Steve Johnson. He reached a high of number 52 in 2012 but just check out the injuries this poor guy has had. Insane.

"In 2007, he was sidelined for nearly six years after five surgeries—three on his hip, one on his elbow, and one sports hernia—and did not play on the tour again until 2011. Baker stated that his love for the game never waned, and he continued to play tennis with his father and uncle in the Middle Tennessee Tennis League."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Baker_%28tennis%29

And he's been out with knee surgery now since the AO 2014. If not for all these problems he has a decent game but damn, it's a miracle he can even walk.

Ya, I remember the dude. Was not Taylor Den this coach for a brief period at least (or is it just a well wisher?)

Not sure if he was his coach actually but I remember watching Baker in some good matches. Shame there aren't any decent clips of him on Youtube. Can only hope he's fit enough to compete well next year and then I won't need any clips :)

The PC knobs have awarded Andy Murray the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award. He got his ar$e handed to him routinely by a geriatric, and won a single MS title of note all year, but Tyson Fury who defeated Klitchsco to win the World Heavyweight Championship didn't tick all the boxes, and so lost out. I think Fury is an idiot, by the way, but that's irrelevant. In the interests of all the freedoms liberals pretend they hold dear, I think he should have won it.

And of course, he actually achieved something of great significance, too... :cover

After winning Davis Cup single-handedly, what would you expect in that region? :nono  :cover

He's like the last man in the room to win the DC. Nobody plays it anymore except, eh, well...

By the way, I'm largely joking here, because Andy has been tremendous for British tennis and winning the DC was a great achievement - but Tyson Fury was nobbled by illiberal sorts who dislike free speech and wanted him actually banned from taking part...
