If Garbiñe would win this event her confidence would go far, next year Serena would have one of the tougher opponents of her whole career  :popcorn

Simona Halep did her part of making my prediction come through beating Flavia Pennetta in impressive wise 60 63. No doubt about this although Flavia did better in the second set. Well done Simona:clap

"I played fast, I played smart, aggressive, I think." -- Simona in her first set bagel.

That was ok. Pennetta is just going through the motions right now it seems. Two more matches and her career is over. Too bad Halep couldn't do this in the USO semifinals.

some of the players are there to make the numbers...especially Aga ..just noticed that her coach has very small hands.

Garbiñe was born in October 8/1993 so she just got 22 years old and not 23 like that picture says

this surface is very slow and can favor the likes of Halep ...Kvitova plays great on indoor surfaces.I think Halep and Kvitty can find themselves in the final...

RE: 2015 WTA Finals

2 h 47 m to win a match but Sharapova did it. It was not one of her most memorable moments presenting the public with 12 DF, but she found her right mood and conquered Poland - well at least her Polish opponent. So congrats to a successful comeback. The most annoying thing about this match to me was hearing Martina Navratilovas so called "expert views" and of course she was a little harsh to Aga who fired her as coach. I claim that she was the person who ruined Aga's gameplay in the first half of 2015. So glad she's found some of her inpredictable play again.

It's ok, one year more or less doesn't make too much the diference ;)

Safarova says: " Garby is going now through a very good time but I know how to play against her"
Garby says: " the adaptation in doubles always is more difficult but even that I could felt the way that Safarova hits the ball and more"

In a perfect world, the semifinals will be Halep-Kvitova and Sharapova-Muguruza. That would almost make me forget that Serena isn't here.

Almost.

What do the injury reports say? Which of these 8 players are just participating to get some cash even though they have no chance of winning a match?

That's what I want to know. With all these injury reports and retirements the last few weeks, I am expecting the WTA Finals to be like another episode of the Walking Dead.

Muguruza beats Safaroba 6-3, 7-6(4) to get her WTA Finals going!

Kvitova vs Kerber next. Like both of them but got to go with my favorite Petra.
