Stan and Murray both have never been #1. I seriously doubt Wawrinka will ever get there or even get close. Murray on the other hand still has a chance in the next couple years.

No need to ne N°1 to win USO

I would like to see a Fedal match. It would be pretty telling of Rafa's form. I can't see him beating Fed on a hardcourt right now, but it might be just what Rafa needs to feel confident and slip into an old pattern.

In terms of Novak, I think the only thing I would like to see is Stan on the other side of the draw...

I know you're hinting that it makes it easier for Roger but honestly I'm not sure it would. If Stan makes it to the semis he's gonna be an absolute nightmare for anyone he plays so even if he beat Novak I wouldn't fancy Roger's chances against him. We've seen what an animal Stan turns into once he gets to the latter stages of slams these days. And if Novak won but was physically a bit zapped it wouldn't matter much since they have an additional day off between the semi and final.

I would take that challenge, Rafa forehand to Federer's bh anywhere

Have you seen Rafa's forehand lately ? :s He's hitting it shorter than Peter Dinklage.

Made, but that was kind of the point I was making. Maybe it's the old comfort of a Fedal match that could lead to some glimmers of the old Nadal. He would have to raise his game though. His forehand isn't going to get better by magic.

Nadal winning the US Open would be a bigger surprise than Marin Cilic defending his title. For about five minutes. Then it will feel like the most natural thing. And we'll have trouble remembering what we were fussing about.

The seeds for the USO have been announced. No surprises. Ferrer is still in it at this post. Sock gets his highest seeding yet at No. 28.

Seedings for the U.S. Open championships

Due to Kohly's seeding, he will be facing a top 8 player in third round. So, Isner will be breathing a sigh of relief. Last 3 years in a row, Isner drew Kohly in the third round and lost in all three years.

I think Haas is using his protected ranking, so he will be in the Main Draw. Stepanek definitely didn't get a wild card, but I don't know if he can use a protected ranking too or has to qualify...
