^ Trust me when I say whatever country he was from, she would have prefixed the insult with that country. It will be nothing to do with the actual fact that he was Czech.

So what would be the underlying reason for her doing that? This is a sincere question. Is it her culture to use nationality as part of her epithets?

Can anyone please find me one evidence she actually did mention Berdych's nationality at all? I'm starting to realize I hate everything about tennis except the matches themselves. The righteousness is unbelievable. And no, this wouldn't have been a big deal in most other sports. This is human nature. We've all done it. To act like someone should be on a different pedestal just because they're some famous athlete's girlfriend is ridiculous.

^^ I agree BB. Still, a bit disappointing to see her face like that in rage and with all those F words. We should be able to control ourselves, I mean that is what separates us from animals, right?

It doesn't really offend me that much and I will soon forget about it, but if she were to say something about Serbs in this manner, then she would be on my bad list for forever.;)

Did you feel the same when Novak told the Spanish crowd to suck his cock (and that was actually audible as opposed to being interpreted by amateur lip readers)? They were heckling him, he reacted. It's not what separates us from animals. His emotions are what make him human.

Did Kim play the match? Did I say anything about Murray's behaviour or cursing? Apples and oranges. While I do not like Nole using curse words, he cut those out tremendously. And yeah, I would not like Jelena cursing like Kim did in public. Nobody heckled Kim, as far as I could see. If they did, then I could see why she reacted that way.

Like I said, not a huge deal, I am not really that offended. Guys are guys, they sometimes say ugly things, but a lady should behave better, here, in public, wherever.:)

I found about this controversy a bit late and am working on the assumption that it is correct. If not, there is nothing to discuss.

I find it weird people just do not get it. I am not talking about cursing or righteousness or whatever. I am talking about why people would bring someone's country into the mix when it is personal. That is the worst kind of collectivism, assigning qualities to someone based on where they are from. When I curse someone, and I do it a lot, their country is the last thing on my mind. I deal with the individual and his moronic qualities. And I am not talking about the friendly banter you have with someone that you have known for a long time and it is all fair game.

If this distinction is too hard to grasp, I give up.

What qualities did she assign to him "based on where he is from?"

I don't know, some effin quality of the other...The question is simple: When you are upset with someone, what does it matter where they are from? Why bring the country up at all?

As a lawyer, I'm offended this is presented as "evidence." As a rational human being, I'm even more offended.

Oh my god, what an absolutely tedious and sad debate this is. And mods joining in when surely they should be telling people to start a separate thread on this or discuss it in the Murray-Berdych match thread rather than clogging up the Final match thread with it?

@1972Murat, it's one thing taking issue with a comment like that if it was premeditated and well thought out but this is a GRAND SLAM SEMI FINAL, a massive one in Murray's year and arguably his career after what he went through last year and this woman has been through the whole thing with him since she rang in sick at school because she was supporting an 18 year old Andy on his way to his first ATP title in San Jose nine years ago. You can't read so much into a comment made in the heat of the moment like this, give the woman a break.

This is what the media used. I guess maybe we should get a room full of people certified in lip reading and see what the consensus is. Other than that, you're stuck being offended. :(

Some saw your point a while ago. Some never will.

Back to the match, Djokovic has won their last 7 meetings on hard courts dating back to 2012 - even before Lendl quit team Murray.

For me this match is quite simple to call. If Novak is playing well he wins. The problem is... will he play well? His losses to Murray in slam finals have been down to his appalling performances. Probably a bit harsh on him at Flushing. He's no wind player, and his performance picked up strongly when the win died down. Andy managed to hold on... congratulations to him.

Kim Sears, blah blah, :deadhorse:deadhorse:chillout::chillout:

I haven't seen much of Murray yet. The aussie in general is tough for me to watch because I am not much of a night owl, I do always watch the final hungover though because it's always on the saturday night after my birthday. I might continue the tradition tomorrow though :laydownlaughing

In general though, let's get back to the final who cares what kim said... or at least start a separate thread.

Ladies curse, dudes curse. It's not classier for either gender. Note: I am not a classy person and have a terrible mouth:ras:

Without Lendl, I doubt Murray would have either one of those slams - that's my opinion. If it's a windy day, it will definitely be a boon to Andy's chances.

I won't make excuses for Novak, he can have more emotional ups and downs in one match than some have in a career. Whatever the source for his jitters against Wawrinka, I'm thinking he will have righted the ship by Sunday.

Novak was struggling at times in his match against Wawrinka, the conditions were ideal for playing tennis,it wasn't hot or humid.I dont know what the problem was, though Novak played a great 5th set to win the match,he really stepped it up.
