As a lawyer, I'm offended this is presented as "evidence." As a rational human being, I'm even more offended.

This is what the media used. I guess maybe we should get a room full of people certified in lip reading and see what the consensus is. Other than that, you're stuck being offended. :(

Exactly that. We both know this isn't evidence. This is just the media running with a story. People shouldn't be treating it as fact, we'll both agree, I hope.

One thing is certain, if Murray does win he won't get any credit for playing well on these boards... It'll either be because Djokovic played rubbish or all thanks to Lendl :snicker .

:laydownlaughing :clap :lolz:

First it was:
If anyone beats Fed he won't get any credit for playing well on these boards... It'll be because Federer played rubbish.

Then it was:
If anyone wins against Nadal he won't get any credit for playing well on these boards... It'll be because Nadal played rubbish, or was injured.

Thanks TF7... you made my day. :D

This will be the first year in a long time I wont be live at Rod Laver Arena for the mens singles final,I was live for all the times Murray made the final's.I am rooting for Murray to finally get the monkey off his back and win his first Australian Grand Slam title. This plexicushion surface suits Murray's game,I for one will be giving Murray all the credit on his play alone if he can win this title.

I might be on high after reading one too many positive media articles but I'm feeling good about Andy's chances tomorrow. Winning here would be a huge turnaround.

Even in defeat, provided it's not a hammering, I think the fortnight will have done him the world of good. He's back where he belongs, it's just finding that final few %.

Gaun yersel Andy!

If Murray wins, Murray fans should be too busy celebrating to care if some people are giving him credit or not. The trophy and prize money should be enough credit.

Let's hope this match is more than a push-fest.

I so agree! They're looking for "elite" treatment as if he's on par with Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic! Right now, he isn't even of the status of Hewitt who won 2 majors, but was ranked #1 for over a year! Andy WILL never attain 'that' with the way he plays; much too late for him to change back! I seem to remember years ago, he was a lot more aggressive and volleyed, then decided to play this counter-punch style to the limit and it has to be debilitating as it is for Nadal! This tourney, he's really turned it around and closed out matches with little fuss! He's saved some energy for this final and it's up for grabs with the way Nole played the semi! I've never seen him blow so many BP's opportunities! I'm hoping for better tonight! :s :p :ras:

Oh my god, what an absolutely tedious and sad debate this is. And mods joining in when surely they should be telling people to start a separate thread on this or discuss it in the Murray-Berdych match thread rather than clogging up the Final match thread with it?

@1972Murat, it's one thing taking issue with a comment like that if it was premeditated and well thought out but this is a GRAND SLAM SEMI FINAL, a massive one in Murray's year and arguably his career after what he went through last year and this woman has been through the whole thing with him since she rang in sick at school because she was supporting an 18 year old Andy on his way to his first ATP title in San Jose nine years ago. You can't read so much into a comment made in the heat of the moment like this, give the woman a break.

I have only one short statement for you, she does not behave like a lady:exclamation:

I'm looking forward to this. Usually, the Djokovic/Murray match-up is quite 'so-so' in my book, but I'm liking the way post-back surgery Andy is playing - a bit more aggressive with a bit more variety.

Djokovic will win, but it might go the distance.

Djokovic better win this or he is going to be under .500 in Grand Slams. Hope we see the intensity from the beginning instead of the fifth set. Wipe Muzzchops and his sailor-mouth woman out in three sets!

but dont you feel it will be true though. I mean Djokovic is a better than Murray in almost every aspect of the game as well as won their last 7 meetings on the hard courts dating back to 2012. I feel this match will be in his hands. If he plays well there is no way I repeat no way Andy can win . So it does come onto how he plays than how Murray plays

The same could be said for anyone who defeats Nadal! He gets every benefit of the doubt; "he must be hurt" or due to injury he didn't have enough match play! It's terribly insulting to all concerned I guess! :dodgy: :ras:

Well I also think the Novak is better than Wawrinka as well? we nearly saw Wawrinka defeat Novak in the s/final? sorry I dont buy that argument at all
It depends on who 'turns up' on any given day to me

Nothing in tennis is ever a given...I think we all have seen that over the years.

Roof might be closed on RLA tonight. It's been raining on and off all day in Melbourne.

I like Nole playing indoors; won't have to worry about his shots being blown off course! Winning the Masters the last couple seasons along with the Asian "swing" proves my point; almost unbeatable! :p

Roof might be closed? then I like more Muzz on that, the court seems to be faster than the previous years and if Muzz plays well then he can make it with or without roof

Murray has arrived for the match, just saw pictures of him via Channel 7 here in Sydney

If rain is still lightly falling in Melbourne, there are 2 courts with roofs, that both players can do their warm up.Everytime I have gone to Melbourne and Novak has been in the final,he has always chosen to do his warm up indoors.
