Watching Roger hitting against Berdych, he still looks like the #2 player in the world. If he meets Murray in the semis? Well if Andy doesn't go running off to clay court practice before then, Fed will send him along, quickly.

Based on the year overall he is anyway. People tend to forget Roger didn't even play Toronto so he lost his runner up points there from reaching the final last year and lost a ton of points in Shanghai. That's the only reason he dropped back to number 3. Given Murray hasn't a hope of beating Novak these days it also seems only fitting that the guy who's challenged Novak the most this year should still look the better player.

I think Muzzard will go soon back to No.4 where he belongs.

Next year they should play on fresh tar. Visuals would be fantastic and it would be slightly faster than this.

Get over it man. Roger seems to be loving the court. If it were US Open speed? Berdych might be winning! :snicker

His first game didn't give any hint of it though - but that poor game seemed to have the same effect on him as Stan's espresso

I wonder what Tomas said when he saw his group. And what Ferrer said when he saw his group.

Roger is a smart fellow. He is winning with his IQ. The out wide kick serve, the drop shots...And he does not whine as much as me ;)

Thankful for that my friend! Watching him out there, I know he and Edberg are working on a game plan for Nole. If he doesn't overhit (as is his compulsion against the Serb these days), I think he has a decent chance against him.

I am not sure brother. Maybe in Cincy those plans work, but here, Roger cannot rush Nole. He has to play flawless and Nole has to play average. Nole will be a wall again and Roger will start spraying everything. That's one match-up (on THIS surface) where Nole can win without hitting a winner.

The ball here has a low bounce and Fed was lethal with his droppers and angles. I think he could frustrate Novak. Sure he will have to play close to flawless, but he was almost that today. We will see Tuesday.

He was flawless against Tomas. Against Nole he will have butterflies in his stomach as usual. Not the same dynamic. Nole is in his head.

I think that's a fair assessment any time Roger knows the court is playing slower. When it's a fast court like in Cinci? He's not afraid to take it to Nole and play more aggressively. Unfortunately all the courts are tediously slow these days.

Given the low bounce I bet Federer will slice a lot to Djokovic bh.
