Well fast grass is the place to potentially beat some players and Newport is the fastest grass court on the tour. Doubt it's anything more than just Newport but who knows.

Mark Philippoussis has taken a qualifying wild card into Newport, scheduling his first competitive match in nine years. Interesting.

He mismanaged all his money and has become broke. He participated in dancing with stars etc. But debtors are after him that he is forced to come back, I think.

I heard about it a few years ago; started with him buying some $1+ million home back in Australia! Not sure if he just lost it or was destroyed! The ball started rolling downhill years ago! Just saw him playing on TV; the senior tour's Powershare making a final! :angel: :dodgy:

I am sick and tired of these idiots trying to interrupt such sporting events in any way. Someone should start suing them for attempted murder, and then let's see how many would still do it.

Not sure if it was just a once off. Hope not. He actually looked pretty good still in that IPTL event late last year. Yeah, 2 tiebreaks isn't bad at all. Newport being the fastest grass court on tour meant he was gonna be getting a fair few free points with his serve.

Was just searching for news on Mardy Fish and he's playing again next at Atlanta. Hope he gets some wildcards to the bigger events for the US hard court season as I've a feeling he'll officially retire this year.
