Just as I expected, the USO will indeed be Mardy Fish's last tournament. Hope he wins a few matches in the next month. Shame what happened to him as he was imo the most exciting American player by far for years.

I'm surprised Floyd is as high up in this list as he is. He makes zilch from endorsements...

But he makes an absolutely ludicrous amount from PPV revenue and guaranteed fight purses, so it balances out.

Yes true. It just surprised me because this list is supposed to be for endorsements

Hearing on Twitter that Dimitrov and Sharapova are no longer in a relationship. That would probably be best for Dimitrov at this stage in his career. Dating the most famous female athlete on the planet has got to be distracting.

Ferrer drops out of Hamburg 500. I think. Someone who can read Spanish could confirm this for me. Still having shoulder issues.

Is there a problem between the organizers of Washington DC tourney and USO / Emirates USO Series Organizers? The Washington tournament is not included as part of the US Open Series this year. That too in ATP, it is a 500 level event.

That wouldn't surprise me. The organizers of tennis in the US have the amazing ability to destroy something that has a chance because of some technicality or rule that absolutely no one cares about.

And does anyone really care about the USO series? That thing has made about as much as much excitement as a bunch of grannies knitting in the stands during a Packers-Bear football game.

I thought this too. I'm sure Dimitrov's rankings will rise over the next year now that he's not distracted by those long legs. I'm actually surprised his ranking didn't dip lower than it did while he was dating her. I'd let a woman like her ruin my life.

I am not convinced Grigor will start winning if he split with Maria. He could get depressed and start partying for example. You never know.
First and foremost he has to find a better coach like yesterday.

I totally agree that no one cares about USO Series, not the player, not the ATP and not the fans either. They are better off spending the extra money on player development of up and coming players.

Originally, the goal was to bring some more top players into the US tourneys with the lure of extra money. However, it just did not work that way at all. I don't know of a single player who plays in the USO Series due to the extra money (and who will not play otherwise).

Ah elbow! Thanks Moxie!

Is Rafa taking his spot? I haven't heard if he'd accepted a WC into Hamburg, saying he needed the work! :dodgy:

Anyway, USO Series exists this year also. But, they have excluded Washington DC tourney. It consists of just Atlanta, Montreal, Cincy and Winston Salem. This is funny considering Washington DC is 500 tourney and is obviously in US. Further, Murray is rumored to play there this year.

For Women also, the USO Series excludes Washington DC, which is a dual gender tourney.
The Series for Women consists of Stanford, Toronto, Cincy and Connecticut.

Both series comprise just 4 tourneys, two of which are Masters / Premier ones.
