Now you just don't give a flying fart about impressions, right? :laydownlaughing

Welcome back GG. Enjoy the USO. I think we will have a surprise finalist and veteran in the final.

I liked what Serena had to say after Cincy in her very long post-match interview with Evert and Fernandez. There was a lot of self-awareness about lost confidence and regaining some of that and also not being so hard on herself so that she's paralysed.
I really need to see that draw but I'm going with Serena for the U.S. Open because I think some of those mental issues are being sorted out.

Yeah I also heard that interview after Serena won Cinncy,I have to agree with you, there was a lot of self-awareness about lost confidence and regaining some of that and also not being so hard on herself so that she's paraylsed.I really feel Serena winning Cinncy does bode well for her going into the USO.I have always thought Serena has always been hard on herself. Nice to see you back posting by the way.

The best usually are hard on themselves. They don't get to be the best by taking it easy on themselves. Though at some point after winning a few slams, you should give yourself a break and consider you know a thing or two about winning them. That is why I think some people win slams and others don't because they aren't hard enough on themselves.

Good points regarding Serena.I understand she is a perfectionist in many ways, maybe a reason why she is hard on herself.I hope she can win her 18th GS title at the USO.I have a good feeling after she won Cinncy.

Got to go with an unknown for the winner here too. Just a gut feeling, with so many upsets in New Haven, or semi upsets, I think a player like Camilla, or Flavia or Slammin' Sam could come out of nowhere and make this last Grand Slam an intriguing one. The logical choice is Serena, but logic does not always prevail!!

Well if they want to trip Serena up just put a bunch of unseeded or lower seeds in her half and put everyone else on the other side as it seems the only players who really trip her up are those outside the top 20.

A interesting fact is that Halep has never advanced past the 4th round at the USO
I expect with her no 2 seeding this year, she will go deeper this year.

Of course not because she only played it once! I am talking about the new Simo. I dont know any other Simo prior to that. Its deleted from my memory. I am always laughing when people take in account her pre May 2013 results. These people refuse to understand that players can really change and not "just evolve".
These people have TOO MUCH STATS in their minds :p
Who cares, it was amazing seeing her in 13-14 and I will always remember this sports event and this special player :)

^ Come in spinner,I knew you would take the bait.................:)

I am in a fighting mood since that sugar bulling match :)
I just hope that Simona will start to get in that mood too. I hope Simona understands whats the real problem. Its not tennis, its "having pleasure" on court... You know what I mean. I hope Simo takes it on board and starts kicking @rse. She was great at that in 2013. She betrayed that in 2014.

Thats to me her real story. Her tennis style can not change just like that because she wants to. She needs to fight and be "normal" again. No more pink and pleasure and strawberries on court. Its sports ffs!

1) Not a machine at all. Fighting is not a "machine" characater, its integral part of any sport. Ask Vika and another screamer. Its their main tool on the court.
Good to know that you think that Vika and sugarpova are machines :D and so many others.

2) Fighting is not just "hard hitting", its something else more than that. Its a mental thing.

Well you have to learn to fight in matches and win, even ugly at times
Simona needs to be more hungry in matches,I dont mean to bring up that Sharapova match, but she was there for the taking,Simona should have defeated her.
I dont mean she has to go and pig out at Macka's either....;)....

Serena is trying to win her sixth US Open title, which would tie her for most US Open titles in the Open Era with Chris Evert. She's also going for her 18th Grand Slam title, which would tie her with Evert and Navratilova for second-most in the Open Era.

The draw is out. Serena has Stosur and Ana in her quarter. Halep has Venus and Pova. Aga has an easy path. Petra gets Kuzy and Vika. I will try to post the link unless someone beats me to it.
