The writers of Tennis.com unanimously picked Serena.

WTA in-house expert took Simona.

I couldn't find the ESPN picks yet, still looking.

ESPN experts picks:

Brad Gilbert took Simona, K. Tandon(tennis writer) took Masha, everyone else(that's 9 experts) went with Serena.

People in the comments seem shocked people are picking Serena for the ESPN picks. I would ask those people who else would you pick? Serena has made it to the final for the past 3 years winning twice. Of her 5 titles this year, 4 of them have come on hard court: Brisbane, Miami, Stanford and Cincinnati. I mean has Serena played consistently convincing tennis this summer absolutely not, but has anyone made her pay for it aside from Venus no because they are even less convincing than Serena has been this summer. Maria Sharapova can only seem to win a title on clay. I think Halep isn't quite ready yet. I think Halep's time will come at Roland Garros. The only person I worry about on her side is Ana, and that is because Serena goes flaky and forgets she needs to force the issue against Ana. Stosur is a wildcard, but she has to make it to Serena first. I am not really worried about Kvitova because Kvitova is perhaps the biggest flake in women's tennis.

I am picking Serena as the winner...just have the feeling that its now or never unless USTA mess her up with scheduling or some shady footfaults.

Brad and the other one just ruined Simo's chances with their jinx. They wanted to feel special and chic with their different prediction. Simo will probably lose now in R1 instead. Thats how women tennis works

^ Pleasing news that finally Ashe will get a retractable roof in 2018.

It is. But I also like the idea of so many getting access to good viewing of the practice sessions, available this year. Some of my most interesting experiences at the Open have been watching practice sessions. But, in the past, it was a rag-tag group of people standing at one end across a chain-link fence. After about 50 people there, you pretty much couldn't see anything. I think this is a nice improvement for the fans, having tiered viewing from the adjacent courts.

You may be right but for all the wrong reasons. We all have that something or someone we dont like that much. At least I am trying to behave and not go overboard.
Shame, I remember that I liked her when she won Wimby at 17! Its all Serena's fault ;)
