I have a vague feeling that if Swiss are 2-0 after today, Fed will probably let Wawrinka
and Chudinelli play the doubles match and if they fail, he will come back, clear the Fog
on sunday and put an end to it.

My feeling has no basis in facts.

Fed was not sharp today, he might need a day's break before playing again at his age.

:laydownlaughing When I hear stuff like that, I half expect to see Roger on court the next time with a zimmer frame!

Just checked history and last time France-Swiss played was 2004 in Switzerland, so the final should be in France.

Wonder what surface they will choose? Probably clay.

Maybe...but both Stan and Roger can hold their own on clay as well. Maybe a really slow hard ?
Either way , if that final takes place, it will be an exciting one.

Any kind of indoor hard court and Roger very likely takes any French player no questions asked. More I think about it the more it seems likely they'd have to go for clay.

With both France and Switzerland leading 2-0 now, that final is almost a reality now.

You may be right, but keep in mind, the only time Roger made it to the final and won Bercy was when they tinkered with the surface a bit to make it faster. Other than that, Roger is a no show there and Gael has 2 finals and so does Tsonga.

They will probably go with clay though...

Serbia went to India without Novak Djokovic, Janko Tipsaravic and Troiki. Nonetheless, they
are already leading by 2-0 after Friday; embarasing for India.

Dusan Lajovic took out Yuki Bhambri in straight sets and Filip Karajinovic took out Somdev
in four sets.

Yeah but Roger has missed Paris many years too, and best of 5 probably helps him instead of the others which is kind of funny given his age. On clay Roger and Wawrinka are still better than both Gasquet and Tsonga but I bet they'd like their chances more against Roger than they do on indoor hard.

Today, Federer Slayer (Sergiy Stakhovsky) won Nadal Slayer (Steve Darcis) in Davis Cup.
See, even a Fed slayer is better than a Rafa Slayer and that is the power of the goat. :lolz:

Switzerland should fied Marco Chudinelli and Michael Lammer to play in the doubles
tomorrow and ask them to tank the match in case it looks like thay may win. This would
ensure that the next singles match involving Fed is a live rubber and that would give
Fed a full seventy ranking points. He could use all the ranking points he could get to
possibly end up at YE #1.

Come on Marco and Michael, just go there and Tank it.

Spain up one match on Brazil, but Andujar and Belucci into a 5th set, with Belucci up the break.

Both Benneteau and Monfils already beat Federer indoor...remember Bercy !!! All French guys are able to beat him, especially in DC

Indoors in a masters that most of the top guys are already tired because of matches played? Not sure it's a great indicator. One would think, when it really matters the odds will be heavily stacked against the French guys indoors. Tsonga would be a definite threat, but not sure about the others. But that applies to both indoors and clay to be honest

Stanley Wow! is the weak link for the Swiss, but the French have either Gasquet or Monfils: not weak links - weak chains! I can't think of any surface where the French will be able to compete with this Swiss team, unless the tie is played on Camembert cheese, coated in Merlot, and even then...

In best of 3 at a Masters event that immediately precedes the much bigger YEC.
