Again I feel for the Murray fans as that was ugly and I just personally feel glad we'll get a potentially great semi final. That'll sting for Murray just as much as Federer's loss so for that my commiserations. This tournament was basically over for me when Fed lost and it's always hard when your player not only loses but loses like they did (Fed and tonight Murray).

Congrates to Wawrinka.
Great back to back wins.
Sorry for Andy. Has a bad day.
Now when Andy lost, Djokovic stocks are rising.
And that makes Djoko's chances better.

Ferrer isn't far behind now to get back to number 3 but he's defending the Paris masters which I doubt he'll manage to do.

Not so fast, remember how Stan battled at AO earlier this year vs Djoker.. not so fast

Wonder if this means the "Lendl effect" has run it's course. Murray was bullied out there today. Magnus Norman has been great for Wawrinka

Indeed Stan didn't play anywhere near his best tonight. Novak better be ready if Stan moves up a few gears.

I think Murray was possibly injured, he didn't move that well. Either that or he is not as fit as everyone thought he was.

Dunno really. Murray just looked his pre-Lendl passive self and broke a racquet and was muttering to himself a lot. Every player has bad days. Fed more than most lately but should he get rid of Annacone? Again I dunno. I reckon Fed's problems are mental and tonight Murray just looked passive, sluggish, even somewhat disinterested. Strange body language. No fight in him at all till basically the last 2 points of the match.

Murray and Roger should swap coaches, just because...

Congrats to Stan. No matter how poor he plays, beating a defending champion is always tricky. They fell like they own the darn thing, you know...

I've always liked Stan. It's too bad he's never really made it too far. I guess it's a consistency issue because when he's on he's on.

How did his forehand look today? I always liked his backhand but his forehand was always suspect to me.

Tough loss for Andy. He will lose tons of points and getting straight-setted in the QFs as the defending champion is brutal and rather an unexpected anti-climax in his brilliant work with Lendl so far. I just think that he is emotionally spent after Wimbledon and who could blame him. He realized a lot of personal dreams by winning Olympic Gold at home, the US Open and finally Wimbledon. Throughout the entire tournament he looked like as if the past 12-14 months took a lot of energy out of him, too much. His effort was never going to be enough against an in-form and incredibly hungry Stan who badly wanted to make that step into the Semis that he was denied in Melbourne this year when he played even better than today in my opinion. Today Stan's entire game clicked perfectly and he executed his game plan to perfection, it's impossible to single out certain things. Stan was in the zone from the get-go. Murray will regroup and respond accordingly in the fall. I figure that he will have a strong showing in London.

Also first time pressure for defending a slam. He said he felt no pressure but what's he supposed to say. Naturally there was pressure and there will be at Wimbledon next year too.

He hit some solid ones against Berdych, but I did not watch today's game. I think it is improving.

There will be pressure no matter the slam. Once you break through and win a slam, the pressure just builds as people are constantly looking for you to repeat your great play. Look what happened on the women's side. All those one time slam wonders and only Azarenka has been able to win a 2nd one.
