By the way, there's no way Rafa is playing this to lose. He's doing exactly what he's done all week, and Ferrer is the best player he's faced all week.

He'll need a lot more in London, because he'll be facing 3 top players there, not the Bowl of Granola and MadMan!

That was close, Ferrer just got the line on that break point.

I must admit, the inside-out forehand is a truly great shot by Ferrer.

I am not watching this , can anyone tell me if Rafa is trying?

He is playing too tentatively and a bit short, but David is on-fire and he has the right game plan. He is committed to showing up people who think he won last year by virtue of diminished competition. (And me, for underestimating him. But if you watched their respective matches yesterday, you wouldn't have predicted this. Clearly I didn't. See poll. )

Ironic that I, as a Ferrer 'basher', was the only one to vote for a Ferrer victory today...:puzzled

Tuned in to watch it a few mins ago. That was magic by Ferrer. I like how aggressive he is today (minus the pathetic grunting obviously). What an important challenge too.

In other words, you went with your head, which is paying off. Well done.

Entirely possible Kieran. Daveed still needs to serve it out. After that last marathon service game, can he?

I actually think David will take this in straights. It's a nice effort from Rafa in the last few games, but he should just take the girlfriend to London tonite and have some fish n chips
