Nadal hit more winners today (19) than yesterday (18). Building form nicely ahead of London!

Seems you missed the error to winner ratio. 25 errors. Ferrer had 29 winners to 20 errors. That's the way the ratio works best and not less winners than errors.

He also had 25 unforced. Those aren't good numbers 2005. :nono

Nadal has never quite managed to master Ferrer the way Federer has.

No complaints from me, because a 3rd set would mean an awful lot of energy expended (plus whatever were to happen in the final). Nadal continues to avoid the marathons like a genius ahead of London. Wouldn't have it any other way :D

Ferrer won? Ah feck! The old radar needs tuning. Well done to him, though, great effort all week and he deserves his place in the final to defend his trophy :clap

I suppose NADAL2005RG will come along later and tell us this is all part of a huge plan...

He's doing a great job of avoiding marathons since the US Open alright.

Yup. We were both right on that one. He said exactly that :clap

Geniuses tend to win more matches than lose them, genius.

Glad we all agree about the marathons. As the saying goes, "Great minds think alike  and the rest can please themselves".

Nadal didn't need another encounter with Djokovic. He wasn't going to beat him here. It's best to limit such encounters with Djokovic (especially on indoor hards) outside of Slam Semis/Finals. He's worked hard to get the mental edge back, no use in letting it slip away on Djokovic's favorite surface at events that aren't that important.
