Is it true that Ferrer is a regular smoker?

Well it's true he's regularly smoked by the top players but not today. He must be chuffed if he's not chuffing.

Sorry if it's already discussed but after today's loss (and the high probabability that Rafa will make semis in WTF), what needs to happen for Novak to take the year end #1?will be fun if we we have a Rafa Novak finals in WTF with the #1 ranking on the line.

There's a huge conversation about this in the Rankings thread:

Seems you missed the error to winner ratio. 25 errors. Ferrer had 29 winners to 20 errors. That's the way the ratio works best and not less winners than errors.
kskate2 said:
He also had 25 unforced. Those aren't good numbers 2005. :nono

No complaints from me, because a 3rd set would mean an awful lot of energy expended (plus whatever were to happen in the final). Nadal continues to avoid the marathons like a genius ahead of London. Wouldn't have it any other way :D

" Nadal continues to avoid the marathons like genius ahead of London"
Genius statement, no?

When Nadal loses, he sure knows when to lose and how to lose, no?

I've been extremely impressed with Nadal's depth this week. Nadal's depth down the middle of the court has been outstanding, just as it was at the US Open. This week the only time Nadal hasn't hit with depth is when he's created angles. Nadal's angles have been more extreme than ever, and its a useful indoor tactic.

I'd suggest leaving the technical analysis to others...or re-watching his matches.

So I go back to the main page to quote the above post by Nadal2005, and guess what, the post has disappeared. Did you seriously go back and delete it just so you can keep telling us you've never been wrong about him?

Also, quick, go delete the post where you predicted Nadal would win Paris (and reminded us that it would be his 26th Masters 1000 event win).

Now, let the record show that you've been wrong about Nadal.

Atone for your shame. No shame in being wrong. Look how many voted Nadal in 2.

He just deleted the post above mine also where he claimed he was only ever right about slams.

I think the mods should just delete all of his posts...

I never do, either. It is silly, if you think about it, considering we're spectators.

I do it. Guilty as charged. I do it to show that despite the fact that my guy has lost I'm consoled (a tiny bit) by the fact that some of the posters on here will be happy for their guy.

I do, too. Sometimes on the boards, sometimes via PM, and not always, and I get the point of those who don't. For me, it's a bit like the handshake at the net, in terms of our community. We argue points, and come from different camps, but, in the end, fair play all, and thanks for the tussle in conversation and debate.

Yep, only Denisovich got it right today.

It was actually meant as a reply to NADAL2005RG's reply to Broken's post where the former claimed he was only never wrong about Nadal predictions for slams but he deleted his post just to make my reply appear as though it wasn't aimed at him, which it was. He conveniently deleted a few posts today as Broken pointed out. But yeah, only Denisovich got it right today

Great match by Ferrer. The head to head on HC was an indication that an upset was not an impossibility. Fed missed a great opportunity here to claim the title.

Yes because I knew it was going to lead to an immature back-and-forth with you.

If Rafa wins against Nole, the only solace is that I get to congratulate Kieran, that's why I always mention him :snigger

I agree with what you said above.
