Semi Finals Stuttgart WTA500
Saturday 22nd April,

I. Swiatek (1) defending champion vs O.Jabeur (3) H2H Swiatek 3-2, their first meeting this year

A. Sabalenka (2) vs A. Potapova First meeting. Note this is the 3rd straight year that Sabalenka has made the SFs in Stuttgart
Jabeur is limping on a calf injury, and retires basically right away, 3-0 in the first. Looks like it happened today?

from where? Practice session or something?
Ons spoke after she withdrew, on court, but didn't really exactly explain, in the way athletes tend to (not) talk about injuries, but she acted like it happened right at the beginning of the match, which, as I said, only lasted 3 games, and the trainer came twice. They wrapped up the whole calf, and she was limping.

Sad news, Ons sustainted a left calf injury and had to retire in her match against Swiatek, she is the defending champion in Madrid, I hope she can recover in time she has shown good form this week in Stuttgart and I was looking forward to this match up

Ladies Final's, Stuttgart WTA500,
Sunday 23th April,

Ladies Doubles Final.

D.Krawczyk/D.Schuurs (2) vs N.Melichar-Martinez/G.Olmos (3)

We have a 'rematch of the 2022 final between Swiatek and Sabalenka
Sabalenka is now the first player to reach 4 finals in 2023.
Will it be third time lucky for Sabalenka? and can she finally win in Stuttgart and also a Porsche which is included for the winner of this tournament.

I. Swiatek (1) vs A.Sabalenka (2) H2H Swiatek 4-2

Both ladies warming up now on court
Interesting fact Iga and Aryna are both vying for their 13 WTA title, it will be 'Lucky No 13' for either player
I am going for a Saba win, I feel she is the player to beat, she played flawless tennis yesterday in her SF match, if she can repeat that preformance she will be hard to beat

Ultimately those serve demons cost her the opening set.

Is Iga playing Madrid? Last year she skipped it and went straight to Rome.

I think the serve demons will always be with her. They just manifest at different times and to her chagrin it will depend who her opponent is. W/ the majority of the tour she can probably make up for it w/ her aggressive return game, but against the very top of the game she will be in trouble when the match gets tight.
