Shame, though her management team must of read my post :) when I suggested she hire a top trainer, Jez Green is a top trainer, good move, both will be working together in the off season. lets see who coaches her next
Further reading, Emma and her team have the option to make Jez Green, a permanent arrangement for the 2023 season. Please take it Emma, Jez is also an Englishman, was trainer for Murray when he won his GS titles.

In the rain delayed match from last night in San Diego
Cooc Gauff (6) d Robin Montgomery 63 63
I was impressed by Robin, she can re direct the ball well, also is strong on both wings, likes to take the ball on, her serve let her down at times in the match, though she is young and has time to improve, one to watch.

Donna Vekic continues her winning ways ( she defeated Sakkari in SS yesterday) defeated Pliskova today 63 62.

There's really no telling why he left. Maybe she is hard to get along with. Did Saba or Konta2 ring him up and beg for his return?

From what I am reading it was visa issues? and Emma was happy with Tursnov, if that is the real truth, it will be interesting to see who he coaches next,

Swiatek v Zheng,
Badosa v Chirico
Keys v Kasatkina
Stephens v Sabalenka

Really tight battle between Swiatek v Zheng 1 set all, going 3 sets now.
Swiatek proved too strong in the 3rd set, defeating Zheng 64 46 61

We have a decider in the match between Gauff and Andreescu, Bianca having to save BPs along the way in the 2nd set and breaks to win the 2nd set 64, Gauff won the 1st set 64, Bianca at times using strange shot selections, though this has been an interesting match up so far

Well done to Coco upped her level in the 3rd set down a break defeating Bianca 64 46 63 to set up a q/final match up with Iga Swiatek.

Good to see Sloane turning up in the 1st set ( not Scone:) ) winning 61 over Saba

Hmm spoke a bit too soon, shades of Scone showing up in the 2nd set, Saba winning 63, going 3
Oh well, not to be for Sloane as Saba defeated her 16 63 62

Match between Keys v Kasatkina, Keys winning in straight sets 64 63

In the last match of the day Badosa made quick work of Chirco in straight sets 60 63
