Let's see if Petra can play like this against Sharapova...I mean Petra isn't known for her consistancy

Well done Petra.

Only saw the first set and then the final game. Does anyone know what happened here? Did Ana get injured or did Kvitova play lights out?

Good solid match from Serena. Coco has one of the stronger serves on tour and I hope she continues to improve and gain confidence.

Well Petra did play 'lights out' and just steam rolled Ana in the 2nd and 3rd sets
Ana did seem off to me....she also had 10df and to me was out of position to return serves.
Full credit to Petra....I just wish she could play more consistant...when she is 'on her game' she is a pleasure to watch.
Thanks for responding Fashionista. Let's hope for such a decisive match from the Spaniard in the Stadium ;)

Thanks for that, GG, too. I just got home and saw that scoreline, and was going to ask if anyone saw what happened. Odd from Ana, who has been sturdier for some time now, and serving well. Hopefully just a bad day and a great Kvitova.

No Talking about Spaniards here until Carla comes in to face the top Chinese. We'll talk about the Spaniard over ATP forum.
:)

Over here we have a 17 years old Ukranian sensation battling it out with the top Pole, the score is tied at one set a piece.

I see Li was eager to hand out a bagel to CSN

It really has been a bagel-generous day today hasn't it...maybe some more competitive tennis tomorrow:)

Well done Petra.

Yeah, it would be nice to see her string some impressive wins together. Who knows who she'll be tomorrow. But today she really dismantled ole fist pump/Ana.

This is the match I wanted to see

Vee v Domi

This is going to be a rough match for Venus. I think the bakery might stay open just a little longer.
Venus needs to pretty much stay at the net and not get bogged down in baseline rallies cause she's not winning those.:(

I have been waiting for this match for 3-4 days!
I didn't know there could be this much spread between two matches!

Time for another Carlsberg - having a great time in the bakery - just sad I wasn't able to see the match. Well I'll be able to see her next match Wednesday. Remember if you want to see Cibulkova on fire WITH English commentators use this link and watch BT Sport 2

It'll likely be a breadstick as Venus holds to avoid the bagel w/ a smear.

Venus is feeling better. She will not turn this set around, but she might yet turn the match around.

Those 3 setters can be gruesome the next day, look whAt happened to Varvara, she played two 3 setters in a row.

I suggest new thread/polls for all quarter finals in addition to the semis and the final.
we know the 2 matches for tomorrow, so lets get it going people.
