Naomi Osaka on US TV, asked about her comeback event being the Olympics,

"Honestly,it's a bit interesting. The flag is next to my name no matter what tournament I play, but I feel like the scale of this is much bigger. It's something I've been waiting for,for eight years".

I will make a comment on draws, especially in the Olympics or say Fed Cup or Davis Cup

When a player is playing for their country regardless of their ranking,to me that goes by board,we have seen upsets of higher ranked players, yesterday was a good example when the world no 1 Ash Barty was upset by SST a player ranked much lower.Players seem to rise to the occasion especially when playing for their country regardless of their ranking....so when people talk about 'weak draw's to me any draw is "On Paper'....full stop.

Again I missed a tennis match from the Olympics (very early in the morning in Denmark), so I was very happy to see a You Tuber putting up a highlight of Osakas round 2 match v Golubic. Seems like Osaka is having her A game up - nice. Here is the highlight

I have a great TV app which I down loaded from our national TV station showing all the matches, also if I missed the ones I want to watch I always watch them the next day.I am on night shift at hospital , at the present time,so it helps me a lot.

Another top seed No 6 Iga Swaitek loses to Spain's Paula Badosa in straight sets 63 76(4)
This tournament meant a lot to Iga she went to her chair after the match ended and put her towel over her face and cried.Iga will have a lot more chances to represent her country I am certain of that fact.

Women are just the (forgive the pun) warm-up act for the men! Like most, Japan is still a patriarchial society where men are still King and women walk behind by a few paces! I could be wrong when I paid attention to such things, but I doubt it's changed over there! Osaka down 0-4 already with tons of UFE's!

Novak Djokovic is partnering with big serving Nina Stojanovic in the mixed doubles
Strong mixed doubles teams, Sakkari/Tsitsipas (GRE), Barty/Peers (AUS), Mladenovic/Mahut (FRA) and Vesnina/Karatsev (ROC)

There has been matches suspended on outer courts due to high wind and rain

Osaka is a tight as a 'drum' needs to cut down on her UFE ASAP
Well done to Marketa 1st set 61 in 24 mins
Osaka has the time to turn this match around she has the ability to do so.

Well Naomi's gone! She had 32 UFE's! She lost this match even though her opponent played within herself! Very nice effort!
I do niot know what the problem was? I guess we will find out in her press conference.Okay she had a lot of pressure on her, being the 'face of the Olympics' though she knew that for some months.
