Marion had to seperate from her father so her tennis game could finally mature with the assistance with Mauresmo

I think her coach forbade her to play in olympics which she really wanted to do

I'm so happy for Marion. Great tournament. Didn't even drop a set.

Feel bad for Lisicki, but I think she'll be back.

Mauresmo is her coach? Was thinking they were just good friends

2 lovely ladies, I'm glad Lisicki made a last stand, but Marion was on top of it...

not a good final but I liked how much it meant to the players . I am sure Sabine will have some chances in the future dont you think

to think, the lady that served the most dbls faults in the tournament, dlbs faulted the 1st game away and served an ACe to win..

I really like Bartoli with all her quirks, she reminds me of a girl that is always ignored by the It girls at school.I hope she rises to the occasion by playing lights out tennis that she played against Serena in 2011...

Tossip, we got it right: Bartoli in 2. :)

Congrats Marion!!!

The French have been looking towards the men for years, and it's the outcast woman who brings them glory!

well you know which is easier :D

very sad for Lisicki though, never came out of her beautiful shell....

Well deserving and such a nice clever young lady, very happy for her and Sabine with her overall game should win slams in career as well. It is just too hard in your first final, the emotional factor is underrated. Very hard to keep your cool.

DarthFed, its ok to see a new champion if that new champion is not Marion Bartoli ...or Caroline Wozniacki.

Congrats to Marion and commies to Sabine. Bartoli played the match of her life against a big server with a booming forehand. She had a game played and stuck with it. Marion handled her nerves much better and had self-belief. For Sabine, it's much harder to control nerves when you are the heavy favorite and you are expected to win.

Mauresmo is the Fed cup team captain, makes sense to be supporting her

I see Lisicki's appearance here like Sam Stosur's first slam final. We all know she had the goods to beat Bartoli but she just let her emotions get in the way. But I expect we'll see her in another final unexpectedly.

Congrats to Bartoli. She fought through her nerves.

I will be rooting for Lisicki at every future Wimby match. She should make another final sometime in the next few years. So sad to watch all those tears.

I am so happy that Bartoli won..she really deserved the title and represented all the underdogs. She was treated like a stepchild at Wimbledon but stepped up and took the title from the polish..
