The grass starts kicking up the 2nd week and the guy can then actually play offensive tennis on the surface. But I wouldn't expect him to have it easy.

the usual trolls as always.

Rafa hits a massive DTL forehand down set point to level the TB but front can only talk about time in between points.

Btw, my mistake, Rafa plays Dancevic next. Still a walkover most likely.

And still the usual trolls defending things that are against the rules. Touché.

Front, Dancevic lost. Rafa will play Kukushkin.

And yeah, sorry. I even said he played Kukushkin last night. Forgot completely. Cheers. Tougher opponent too on grass.

you make it seems that grass wears down only for Rafa. Even in the dead ball era, Wimbledon was a "clay" court on the Second Sunday...especially back then because of all the S&V and C&C.

I want to know how many players in the open era have been to Five SW19 finals.............

address the tennis.

Didn't Rafa went for it down 5-6 on the TB with a DTL forehand? Is that outside the rules?

^ How many have won at least 2 on grass is the better question.

I frankly have zero idea why you're harping on about one point. So what? Sure he hit some great shots, they both did. You like many other Nadal fans can't defend the things he does that are against the rules. Fact is, you know damn well that the 99% of the umpires treat him very differently from other players and if he was made to adhere to the proper time limit like everyone else he'd screw up his rhythm completely 'cos he excels from being sloooooooooooow. Make him speed up and things would likely go wrong for him. They bend the rules way too much for him and Pascal Maria should umpire all his matches and penalize him constantly like he should be.

wafa went mental at the end lol..the excitement of reaching rd 3 was too much for him. :snigger

rosol gave him a fright tho..started off the match in 2012 mode, but rafa did the job..rosol wasn't cowed, we need more of that in the mens game, kept rafa honest.

he playing a new up and arriving bloke is he in rd3 vesily who bt gail tilsley (ooh ivy fer goodness sake mam.) monfeeeeil

is he another cheque for nadal to bounce out ?..they are lining up like a row of cream drizzled strawberries in front of a slightly hungry fat bloke.

Edberg, Becker, Borg, Sampras, Roger, Laver, Mac, Connors for starters, and that's just Open Era.

Just btw the usual trolls can't even read. This was my first post after the match (see below) that shows you clearly can't read. I mentioned nothing about time violations till the next post but you can't defend the time violations anyway since he was over the whole match.

Well it wasn't death foretold after all :p Good match. Pity for Rosol that his serving let him down 'cos the penultimate service game was how it needed to be all match. Probably one of the fastest service games you'll see. Nadal and fans must be happy.

no excitement. I could care less now days

what bothers me is the usual suspects talking the same garbage during this time of the year. SW19 grass ALWAYS wears down...ALWAYS. But somehow Rafa has to return his two titles because he benefits from this physical occurrance which is natural.

Somehow the King of Clay has to be also the King of Grass, it's not ok to be really good on this stuff but not as good. Calling him garbage despite the pedigree and the people he has defeated on center court is quite frankly comical.

Yes, Rafa is vulnerable the first week.....not because he can't play but because it's difficult for him to adapt his game so quickly. There is always a trade off and Rafa's game it's built to dominate clay...not grass. He should be admired for overcoming his limitations.

It's also comical how Rafa only survives the first week because he gets nobodies.....well, when was the last time Federer played somebody during the first week of any slam?

How is Nadal the heavy favorite? He's struggled the first 2 rounds and he still has potentially Raonic/Federer/Djokovic to the title?

This is not the Nadal of 2008 and 2010. He's fighting to keep alive. What makes you think he is the favorite against the likes of Federer/Murray/Djokovic on this surface? Keep in mind this is the first time he's made round 3 in three years.

Rafa has a loaded draw. A lot will depend on how he plays in week 2 (should he get there). I wouldn't say he's the clear favorite despite his #1 ranking.

Well Nadal almost always struggles in the early rounds though. Even the times he won it: In 2010 he played a couple five setters and even in 08 he almost went down two sets to one to Gulbis. And yet how often has he struggled in the second week? I still need to see him reach the fourth round before I have confidence, but if he does, then to me he's the heavy favorite. I don't see Fed, Murray, or Djokovic beating him.
