Unbelievable.

Things just got a lot brighter...for Djokovic, Federer, and just about everyone else.

I don't think things changed that much for Djoker. He's on the other side anyway. I had Nadal losing before the final so I just need Murray to capitalize on his good fortune now.

I know Nadal is probably injured, but it also looked like he was not yet ready to compete on grass. He could improve on his schedule and not be so overworked after winning RG.

In my view, we've just witnessed why Federer's ability to win matches like these at slams is what makes him the gold standard. Every great has had to battle through these kinds of matches, but Roger makes it through. Why not Rafael? I don't know, but he is still one of the five best I've ever seen. Darcis was very good today and deserved to win. I wonder if Nadal choosing to skip a warmup was the right decision.

I just.... I don't even.... I'm utterly flabbergasted. Flabber. Gasted. This is insane. Great effort from Darcis. I watched it. And Nadal really wasn't awful. And the scoreline shows that he didn't just not play well at all. But it literally seems to me like Nadal didn't put up a fight. That's crazy to say. But watching it. That's just how I felt. I mean, there were moments. Where it looked like he was trying. He just couldn't get the shots in. Which is completely unheard of. He doesn't miss. I mean.... He's got a 20 to 10 h2h advantage over Roger freaking Federer because he doesn't miss. Like.... it was... the best word for it is really is WEIRD. It was just weird. He wasn't injured. He can't dare blame his knees. It was just weird.

In fact, this is worse for Djokovic. Now he will have to face either Murray or Federer. I was hoping Nadal would take them out for him.

I'm just stunned by this shocking news.

Now, it is a golden chance for Murray to win his 1st Wimbledon title.

Where the heck he got injured? Did Ferrer give him a kick in the locker room after the 3 set loss to him at RG?

I never thought Rafa would be losing points at Wimby this year. And it is also going to be very annoying again for another player, in this case Darcis, not to get proper credit for a nice win because of Rafa's knees, or whatever else it might be. I am not saying he was not hurt, just saying it is tough for Darcis.

It reminded me of Australian Open 2011 when Nadal faced Ferrer. Nadal had a hamstring issue during that match and he never really got into the match. I think he was having some issue today as well, pushing off for his backhand.

rafa couldn't trust his knee..

I know the feeling I wore those patella support wraps on both knees for nearly 15 months..

its in his mind and in the end it dominates his thought process and impairs his tennis IQ.

DONT SUPPOSE DARCIS IS WORRYING ABOUT THAT THOUGH..HE GONNA Dine out on this win for ever.

:) I'm just trying to find a reason for this. He was hitting a LOT of UE, maybe he couldn't get deep enough to hit the balls well. I don't know. Lot of factors really. Like you said the grass has to do a lot with it too.

I see some others saying he must be injured or whatever. I'll say that he didn't appear to be moving as amazing as usual. But, it was only slightly. Like... he move well.. ish. I mean, it was still better than a lot of guys move. I really don't think you can say he's injured. You can probably say, that with it being just 2 weeks after RG he's still tired maybe. I mean... 7 months off, he didn't have to play day in and day out for. I mean, he's still got the fitness. But maybe his clay swing just took so much out of him and this time, at this point in his career, his turn around just isn't what it used to be. He's not 30. But he's got a lot more matches on his belt than many guys who make 30 do. And we all know he, and no one else, doesn't have the ridiculous resiliency of Roger Federer. Someone said maybe he should have played a warm up event. I would agree with that. I mean, I said already that I don't think the transition to grass bothered him. But... still it was his first match on the stuff since last year's early loss. I really do think he had some demons bothering him that got to him after last years match. Which is surprising, because I thought he just blamed that loss on his knees or whatever. But maybe, he really just got beat last year too and he took the 7 months off for more than his knees. I'm not saying his knees didn't need a rest. But maybe he also needed to reevaluate his life or whatever. I mean... some guys just can't keep it going like Fed or Agassi. Borg quit early. And Nadal has always been much like Borg. In his RG dominating ways that is. So... maybe.... I don't know. I'm just shooting out ideas at this point. Don't put much stock in them.
