First player to progress in R2 is Berankis, when Haider- Maurer retires:

JMac just called into question Ferrer colluding with Nadal to make the draw easier for his countryman... :snicker. Count on McEnroe to go there.

Maybe he mentioned it because it was an issue on this board and others alike.

A British Guy not named Murray has won a match. Liam Broady, a wild card, has won against Mattosevic in 5 sets. Now British Press can write volumes about him in tomorrow's papers.

Possibly, but the way he put it forth it seemed as though he believed that's the way it played out. :nono

Novak wins in straight sets. This is why he does not need a warm up tournament on grass.
He comes in cold, faces the highest unseeded player who is also a good grass courter and he wins untroubled.
Good for him to go to the beach instead. I wish I was there too;)

:snicker You mean he will get a little blurb in each corner of the papers pasted everywhere with Murray?!

I expected Novak to win this and also the bookies were not buying into this either.
The reason is upsets tend not to happen when it is an "expected" upset as the player will be careful as well. Upsets have better chances of happening when it is not so much "predicted".

They might have something else to cheer later! I think I saw in the draw, Ward is to play the "Lucky Loser" who took spot vacated by Ferrer! Other than his DC wins over the US, I have no idea who and how this guy plays! I couldn't even watch Isner and Querrey going down in flames like that to someone not even ranked in the top 100! :cover :nono

Kokk loses in straights. Word is he is having some stomach bug for the last four days or so.

Well I hope he feels better if that's the case! Commentators had convinced me he was the next great player after Krygios! I expected him to last a couple rounds and potentially get to Nole, but it wasn't even close! Mayer's no slouch and seeded #24! :popcorn  :dodgy: - Supposedly he was to play doubles with Hewitt; we'll see if that's still on!
