Sadly if that hotel was full of local ppl you wouldn't even read it in the mass media news ;(

This isn't strictly true: it's just that it would be more locally known, but it would still be international news. Remember when Boko Harum kidnapped the school kids? That it was westerners targeted means that it's bigger news in the west than it would have been. It's part of a larger pattern of attacks on the west, so this is natural. It's no more or less tragic, though, that the west is the target, again...

And what happened when Boko Haram kidnapped them? Did you saw lighten up buildings and monuments? Did you saw UN making urgent meetings? It was on the mass media news for couple of days and that was it ;(

Btw...

I'm not sure what your point is. For example, do you think that a tragedy in Europe affects Africans so much as a local one does? A tragedy in Europe is a local one for Europeans. You may think it's wrong to feel it more when a neighbour is affected, but you can't say it isn't natural.

As for the kidnapped children, what did the Muslim world do? It's Muslims who are committing these horrendous crimes. Can't blame the west when we get involved, and similarly blame us when we don't...

Yeah, our new friend sprinkled these links in various places. I excercised my moderator chops and deleted them all.

Mass media did their job with you I see ;)
It's not "the Muslims" in general btw... just a bunch of lunatics that (unfortunately) exist in every other "religion and race".

Sad thing is that (according to mass western media ofc) there are "lesser ppl" in this world (mainly "non Caucasian/not from the "western world") and you know it :) but you just want to oppose my view on that matter ;)

And a tragedy in Europe is pretty much worldwide but the tragedies in Africa (particularly), Asia (except for maybe Japan), South America, etc... are usually "just local" (with an exclusion for natural disasters). That is just sad and "at least" unfair but we shouldn't be surprised because for example black ppl was slaves even in the middle of 20th century!!!??? We still didn't evolve that much ;)

What a strange post. I see this a lot with people who get their news from pokey outlets and not the "mass media", which is only there to affect us slobs who can't think for ourselves. :cover

Think for a minute on why "a tragedy in Europe is pretty much worldwide" and let me know your conclusions. And while you're thinking on that riddle me this: is it more natural to be affected by a tragedy that strikes your neighbour, or not?

Then tell me this: does Europe donate to and help Africa in any way, or not at all?

And did the Syrian refugees head en masse to Dubai and the oil rich Muslim states, and China and India - or to Europe, and the west? And if so, why?

Your "logic" is just not working ;) sorry but that's a fact :)

350.000 children died of hunger/lack of drinking water alone in Africa in 2014!? Where are the Live aid's now???

Btw I'm a Caucasian living in one of top 10 countries (economically/socially/etc.. .) in the world but I am aware that (unfortunately) Kardashians asses are "more important" than starving children!!!??? That is just sad and unfair ;( basically non human but I guess that's how the wheels are rolling novadays ;(

And yet...it's those uncaring Facebook westerners who do more for Africa and poor people in faraway lands we're too ignorant to know about, than anybody else. Funny, innit?

NATO member Turkey has shot down a Russian plane flying illegally in its airspace, and apparently have captured one of the pilots: the other died in the crash.

This isn't the first time Russia has invaded Turkey's airspace, and they've been doing the same thing along the the coast of England regularly, too. Russia - naturally - denies it invaded Turkey's airspace, a denial we could treat with the same seriousness as their denial of being habitual drug cheats in sports, and the denial that they have illegally occupied Crimea. This time, their brinkmanship has gone down in flames. Sanctions have had an effect on Russia's economy, and hopefully they'll be tightened. And hopefully too, Russians will cop on and rid themselves of the thug on the throne...

^ Let's wait and see how this all pans out. Quite frankly neither country involved should be trusted at this point. I'm not sure how this situation would benefit Russia but we know they may be looking moves ahead. Putin will be a lifelong dictator so your last hope is going to be in vain. Quite frankly I'm glad Russia is getting more involved overall, we might look back on ISIS taking out that Russian passenger plane as their biggest mistake.

I think the Isis situation is different though. Russia have being doing rat runs along the English coast as a show of provocative bravado, and hassling Lithuania in the Baltic sea, and they were told by the Turks to quit it. They're not flying through Turkish airspace accidentally, while on a mercy mission into Syria. They know what they're doing, and they're daring NATO to stand up to them, knowing that so far NATO have been backing down.

Thankfully, today they didn't. It's irresponsible and unnecessary provocation, and one that shows just how indisciplined the Russians are...

And we have another extremist attack in the USA--this time in San Bernadino, California. A Muslim and his mail-order bride mowed down 31 people, killing 14.

I say Muslim because that is what is being reported. The trouble is that practically all terrorist attacks by groups or individuals around the world on civilians had been with some sort of Sunni extremist group. For reasons I'm not certain of, Shiite Muslims don't seem to engage in this kind of terror and indiscriminate killing, often of soft targets. They will hit military installations during war or perceived violations of territoria sovereignty but not like this. I can't think of one in the past ten years off the top of my head--and citing alawite Muslims like Assad in Syria does not pass the test, even though it is a horrible thing; it's a different kind of hotter that one finds in civil wars (an oxymoron if there ever were one).

Still not positive whether these two are linked to ISIS or any other terrorist group, but it's obvious this was a planned attack. Syed was a U.S. citizen but like you said it appears that he somehow snuck in a mail-order bride after traveling to Saudi Arabia and then just happened to start collecting tons of weapons. I guess they weren't profiling these people properly.

I don't know if it matters what type of Muslims these two that were captured, confronted and killed because at the end of the day, the TRUTH is that these two were part of a terror cell that got activated to perform a heinous crime on a soft target that consisted of people whom he worked with and probably knew on a personal basis. That is the pure epitome of being gutless.

Apparently the mail-order bride had pledged her allegiance to ISIS on facebook. How exactly did the US government f*ck this up so badly. Guy goes to Saudi Arabia, comes back with a mail-order bride and then assembles enough weapons and ammo to equip a small army and it all goes undetected.

Isis attacked San Bernardino to "thanks" Obama to help France in Syria. Sorry for all my US friends. Now it's my turn to cheer you up and to support you. Stay strong, resist. Much love from Paris

I don't buy the whole "How the US government. F# this up concept. However on this board when that philosophy is posted, it is consigned to the MAX. Would you blame the US government for the sick bastards that committed the slaughters at South Carolina, at the movie theater in Colorado or the school in Connecticut..It's a very troubling society that we live in. No one wants to take ownership of the world's problems but wants to blame the Government when it's the NRA and others who provide the safe havens for a lot of sick people to inflict their disturbing messages on the decent citizens of our world.

Trump is the Republican Party's Jeremy Corbyn. Corbyn is the leader of the Labour Party in Britain, and so wacky and fecked up in his ideologies, an apologist for anti-semites, a pure hater of the west and his own country, a huge supporter of the old Soviet Union and crazed blood thirsty old-skool commie dictators, a friend to the IRA and Muslim nutjob terrorists.

Trump is him - but on the other end of the spectrum. The problem for the US is, you need a stronger rival to Hilary, who will be a terrible president, and whose moral judgments and personal actions are totally questionable - just like her sweet-stick, rotten to the core hubby. But unless the Republicans can keep the jackasses and empty-suit racist mouthpieces away from the mike, they're not going to be taken seriously - at all...
