It's being reported that Rafa will skip the WTF, but play Paris. If so he's pacing his recovery for Oz. Hopefully more will be reported later...

I just read the same link reported from Tom Gainey 15th October

I have the link hopefully it works here

http://www.tennis-x.cpm/xblog/2014-10-15/17381.php(video)

Rafa will play Basel,he leaves today, via Cannes where he is doing a commercial,he will play Paris and then early in November will have his appendix out.The timing of the surgery will give Rafa 6-8 weeks of recovery time before the AO.Rafa has never won the ATP final and this will be second time in the last 3 years he'll miss it.

BTW this news will help the hopes of Andy Murray's qualification for the YEC.

That page didn't load, fashionista, though maybe it will for others. 6-8 weeks is a long recovery, or is it normal?

Honestly I had this trouble with another link I posted here? I checked that it was correct by the way?
I read what was in the link and wrote down what it said.I am cursed with links...

I too thought 6-8 weeks was a bit long? usually it is shorter. This isnt a doctors' opinion is it?
I would take the recovery time with a grain of salt in this situation quite frankly. My recovery time was much shorter when my appendix did burst, also I didnt have key whole surgery, which is done today.

'Nadal's camp says that he has not yet decided to pull out of London, but rather will evaluate how he feels after playing Basel'

That has thrown the cat amongst the pigeon's hasnt it no?:)

BTW whenever I read these type of reports,I take them with a grain of salt also.I have to stop taking all these salt in...not good for one's health by the way:)

According to l'Equipe, he'll play Basel and Paris but is still in doubt for Masters
He'll decide at the last minute but could undergo a surgery juste after Paris. Wait and see

If Rafa does well(WIN) Basel and Paris.. he will play WTF.. he can still hvae the procedure and still have ample time to get ready for OZ, IMO

It is a wonder by now Rafa's Famous Appendix hasnt got its own Face Book page or Twitter account no?:)

There have been soo many different Twitter statements from journalists,it is soo confusing no?:)

The up to date news I have read, which could change at any time,is that Rafa will play Basel, after that he will see his personal doctor Cotorro, then will evaluate his present condition.

Stay tuned......

If Rafa drops out of WTF this year, he will extend his own previous record for the maximum
number of times a player has qualified, but did not show up, from 3 to 4. He had qualified
but did not show up in 05,08 and 12.

Just take the season off already. He's not going to win the WTF and that's about the only thing that matters other than his health, so might as well do what's the best for the latter, get the surgery, recover, be ready for the new season, and do well in Australia again.

I think he's trying that, and to get some matches in. But he's not well! It's going to frustrate him more - and maybe physically damage him, but most likely not...
