Lol! Cali you dismiss the article because of who writes it, never really giving much thought to what he says. By the way I haven't even indicated whether I agree with Frum or not. I just put it here because it's pertinent to this thread. Defensive much?

I would be glad to discuss the content of the article. But if you're only interested in discussion of topics, why is it that you never just post non-anti-Trump articles to stimulate discussion? Why are they always slanted against him? I'm all for having an open debate but please don't pretend that you are above bias.

That said, I do find it amazing how current Trump critics who were so adamantly against the war in Iraq have no problem making common cause with its leading proponents (such as Frum) simply to oppose Trump. It's almost like the war in Iraq never happened.

Last, let me say this: when people say Trump did not act fast enough, I find it hilarious. Dr. Fauci said in late January that Americans more or less had nothing to be worried about. And after Trump issued the China travel ban on January 31st he was widely condemned by Democrats (and the WHO) for being hysterical and xenophobic over the coronavirus. On top of that, he was being impeached for supposedly being a "dictator" in (rightly) wanting Joe Biden to be investigated. So, in the midst of all that, you wanted him to shut the country down in early February? That is too funny. Democrats would have screamed louder than imaginable had he done such a thing.

This is how the Washington Post and NYT reacted to the travel ban during the first week of February. I'm sure they would have gone along with Trump shutting down the economy that week too! Lol.

Get a grippe, America. The flu is a much bigger threat than coronavirus, for now.

Who Says It’s Not Safe to Travel to China?
The coronavirus travel ban is unjust and doesn’t work anyway.

mate I post things that aren't directly related to Trump and you still find a way to bring him into it. Is it me or is it you? :face-with-tears-of-joy:

The article you just posted was called "This is Trump's Fault" - by Iraq war hawk and Bush speechwriter David Frum of all people. Who do you think may have been the subject of the article?

A generalization about who exactly? Lol. This seems quite rich coming from someone who put up a post yesterday about how supposedly brainwashed Fox News viewers aren't taking their doctors' advice based on one isolated case.

Lol.....you just hate being called out for your logical inconsistencies, blatant dishonesty, and gaps in knowledge. All you can do is resort to name-calling with no substance behind it. Every time you post an article it is with a clear anti-Trump bent and then you run behind the "I'm just posting for discussion" defense. Oh really. That explains why you put up articles both pro- and anti-Trump. But wait, you don't do that.

So then you say.....let's discuss. So I do discuss the content of the article and I explain why saying Trump should have done more earlier is completely ridiculous. Do you say anything about that? No. Did you answer the questions I posed? No. Because you don't know what to say.

Murat is right in a sense.....these debates for you are all a vanity trip. Unfortunately for your vanity trip you do oafish things like post articles from one of the most discredited buffoons in American journalism (Bush speechwriter and leading Iraq war advocate David Frum) in order to bash Trump. That doesn't make you look smart but genuinely clueless.

It's exhausting talking to you. Dialectic requires relative equality. I have better conversations with my mutt. Why do I even bother with you? :face-with-tears-of-joy:

oh wow.. a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Credit cards are one of the largest industries in Delaware, Biden's state! I don't get people like you. You do a tiny bit of research, maybe listen to one attack piece on tv and confer on yourself expertise.

Yes, a little knowledge is a dangerous thing. And maybe you should do a tiny bit of research to see how what Trump brought to everyone's attention about Hunter Biden in the Ukraine was only the tip of the iceberg when it came to Biden family corruption. You may want to consult the findings of Peter Schweizer recently.

As a senator Biden advocated for some of the most important employers in his state. So what??

You would never give Trump a pass for something similar and you know it.

Joe Biden the senator who used to take the Amtrak to Washington, respected and loved on both sides of the aisle, super corrupt?

Yes mate.

Actually do your research and submit the proof or at least follow American politics for a few decades...Don't just present stuff that's little more than inuendo, and frankly very easily explainable.

Okay, here is some proof. Besides the well-publicized deals for Hunter Biden in Ukraine and China, we have these two gems:

1) Joe's younger brother James becoming executive VP of a construction company called Hillstone International (despite no experience in construction) just as Hillstone got a multi-billion-dollar contract to build 100,000 homes in Iraq.

2) This one takes the cake.....remember Devin Archer from his association with Hunter Biden and Burisma? Well there is another company that started with a B they were involved with - Burnham Financial Group.

“There was, for example, Hunter’s involvement with an entity called Burnham Financial Group, where his business partner Devon Archer — who’d been at Yale with Hunter — sat on the board of directors. Burnham became the vehicle for a number of murky deals abroad, involving connected oligarchs in Kazakhstan and state-owned businesses in China.

But one of the most troubling Burnham ventures was here in the United States, in which Burnham became the center of a federal investigation involving a $60 million fraud scheme against one of the poorest Indian tribes in America, the Oglala Sioux.

Devon Archer was arrested in New York in May 2016 and charged with “orchestrating a scheme to defraud investors and a Native American tribal entity of tens of millions of dollars.” Other victims of the fraud included several public and union pension plans. Although Hunter Biden was not charged in the case, his fingerprints were all over Burnham. The “legitimacy” that his name and political status as the vice president’s son lent to the plan was brought up repeatedly in the trial.

Go ahead and explain that one away buddy.....tell me how it's okay that Hunter's close friend and business partner Devin Archer was arrested orchestrating a scheme to defraud a Native American tribe of tens of millions of dollars. Want to explain that one away?

We all know if this was the Trump family and its associates you would be calling them vicious racists. Why is it okay with Biden?

Yaaaaaaawn... I hear a lot of talk about Hunter Biden. Why does that make Joe Biden complicit, that's the candidate remember? Why does it make him corrupt? Boring...

And by the way... it doesn't make it ok for Biden. I merely point out that Trump's family and his business and of course Trump are even more corrupt. If you want to suggest that they should both step away and let younger fresher candidates step forth... well brother. I'll be right there with you ;) But this thing you Republican supporters do, flinging shit at the opposition and ignoring the corruption of your candidates? Doesn't fly with me buddy

One thing I've been pleasantly surprised about regarding Trump is his unwillingness to centralise. While ironically it's probably the right thing to do temporarily, it's one argument against the oft mooted authoritarian accusation levelled against him. I don't care why he doesn't seem to want to do it, it's just a pleasant surprise that he isn't enthused about doing it. I believe I've said this before... beware the next populist American leader who is actually smart enough to take advantage of times like these

Line 1.

Line 2.

So Joe Biden's family activities don't make him corrupt (even though Hunter Biden leverages his dad's name and his dad allows it to enrich the family), but Trump's family activities do make him corrupt.

Excellent consistency there Federberg.

I was going to ignore you. And I still will. But this is just too easy...

No. Trump's corruption makes him corrupt!

I'm all for calling out corruption where it actually exists, like with the Congressmen who sold their stock prior to the coronavirus outbreak hitting the United States. But most of the charges against Trump and his family are utter nonsense.

You're right, he colluded with the Kremlin to steal the 2016 election. And Wikileaks got the emails from the Russians.

Oh wait.....neither of those things happened. :)
