Pironkova d (18) D.Vekic 64 61

Pironkova has been the 'surprise packet' in the womens draw, not playing for 3 years, loving these quick conditions, with her low flat shots and returns, bhand is just a delight to watch.
Pironkova will play the winner Keys-Cornet

Watching a bit of Azarenka vs Swiatek, this match reminds me in a way, when Vika was playing Sabalenka,Swiatek is a big heavy hitter off both wings. 2 all 1st set, seeing I have been up since 3am,I need to go for a run and gets some fresh air.Back later.

Can't stand ESPN. They would rather show "no talent" Keys than someone who's won 2 slams and been #1.

I've got Vika's match on ESPN3.com. And they do always show the US players, but the Keys one is tighter at the moment, to be fair.

I can't stream ESPN3 because I'm not a cable subscriber right now.

I'm no fan of calling players "talentless," particularly if they've made the final of a Major. Do you really think Keys has no talent, or do you just not like her game?

She has very little talent Mox. She's a thoughtless ball-basher. There's no game plan when she comes on court. It's just hit 1 and miss 3 all the time.

While I don't like her game, I'm sorry to see she had to retire. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Maybe she has no finesse, but she's certainly not without athletic talent.

I won't deny her athleticism. But you have to be somewhat athletic to make it big on the tennis tour. As for her reaching a slam final, to me that's not indicative of someone having immense talent. We've seen over the years how a draw can open up and somebody who wasn't on the radar gets to a slam final that hasn't really done anything else in their career. Bouchard is ringing a bell.

Ons is frustrating Kenin at present, with the variety in her game,Ons did a lovely high lob and now Kenin will serve to force a t/breaker for the 1st set.
