No, for you to suggest that what Djokovic did is either as bad or even worse than what Nalbandian did is utterly stupid. Nalbandian kicked a board into someone. Djokovic accidentally hit a linesperson with a ball while he wasn't even looking at them. There is no comparison there. None.
No, there is a comparison. A gesture made in anger injured a lines person. Neither had intent.

Just to illustrate how ridiculous I find Moxie's sanctimonious handwringing to be, I'll share this video of Obama's close friend Stephon Curry THROWING A MOUTHPIECE AT A REF. There was nothing accidental about this. Kyrgios's behavior is far closer to the norm in the NBA than the exception. And having seen incidents of this sort repeatedly, I find the tennis world's reaction to this Djokovic episode to be ridiculous. Moxie of course knows nothing about this, even though Obama is tight with the NBA stars and actually golfed with Curry the day after this incident occurred:

Stephen Curry AND Kevin Durant get ejected! - threw mouth piece at referee

OK, task at hand: Coric or Thompson? I think I know where @MargaretMcAleer stands, mustache or no, but I'm going to root for Coric. On the theory that you root for the guy who beat your guy, and because @JesuslookslikeBorg has long championed him.

As much as I will miss Jordan’s mustache, I’m pulling for Coric as well.

Hey all. Love seeing my two favorite young uns, FAA and Rublev, make it to the R16. Unfortunately I think FAA's run stops with Thiem, though. Rublev- Berretini could be tight.

It also seems like Davidovich Fokina is having a bit of a breakthrough tournament.

11 of 16 4R players were born in 1994 or later, which is the cut-off date I used for Next Gen.
Nice to see you around. Hope you and yours are well. I was going to write before that this has to be at least a bit fun for you, with the Next Gen showing up well, but, ahem, things have changed. Land of opportunity for many. Any predictions?

Unbelievable. This is the kind of stupidity that results in people voting for the Democratic Party.

Nalbandian kicked a board in front of someone and caused their leg to bleed. That person was right in his path of vision as he was running toward it. It was the equivalent of driving 50 mph into someone standing on a sidewalk.

Djokovic was annoyed and hit the ball a little bit harder than usual at the wall as he was turning away from it. It poked someone in the neck. That would be more like backing up a car into someone riding their bike on a sidewalk. Maybe slightly careless but nothing like driving in a rage and hitting someone on the side of the road.

Commentators said Djoke hurt his shoulder just before hitting the ball that struck the linesperson. Maybe he knew his wasn’t going to win and felt frustration. He’s lucky there were no spectators. The NYC crowd would have booed him whole-heartedly.

Ranking points will be kept for 18 months because of the pandemic. This assures that Djoke will obtain the record for most weeks at #1.

I think you’re setting up a straw man. It’s not just that Djokovic did not try to hit her. It’s that he wasn’t even in a state of rage. He was just a bit annoyed and flicked the ball. If you think that is worth banning someone from a tournament entirely, then you are only proving the stereotype that it mostly pussies who like tennis.

Have you ever watched the NBA? I have on a regular basis, with basketball being my favorite sport, and I have seen far worse on repeated occasions.

I think in this situation you could fine the player and give the opponent a game. You don’t have to ban them from the tournament entirely. (And what Nalbandian did was far worse; there is no comparison there.)
Yes. I watch the NBA, but you can't really compare that w/ tennis. NBA and NFL are contact team sports. The old rules for the NBA were quite lax in my opinion and completely at the discretion of the refs. In the last 6-7 years they've added some more structure to the game, but again you're still at the mercy of what the refs deem is a foul, whining about getting a foul, is it a flagrant etc. And the NFL is the same way. They've added so many rules to protect the players that it's taken away from the spirit of football and still yet again the penalties are ultimately decided by the refs. We've seen blatant "no calls" or silly touch fouls that turn into a 15 yard penalty, etc. But I digress. If you want to debate this, we should probably take it to another thread as I don't want this to turn into a discussion between the different sports.

In a serious note: If you are Alexander Zverev, this is a golden opportunity to a very least reach his very first Slam Final. He should just be extremely focus and not have letdowns until next Sunday.

Wow, as one troll to another, huh? I don't defend the Nadal trolls, but you above just tried to draw a comparison to Nadal using the bathroom. You vent your dislike of Nadal at all opportunities. You also take every opportunity to rewrite history, where Nadal is concerned...matches he won, but "shouldn't have," in your opinion, and massaging endlessly over how things might have gone differently. So what is the difference between you and Nadalfan2013, really?

Moxie, if anyone is a troll, you are the epitome of one. You have consistently been on these boards for over 10 years, never taking a break, and you love to stir the pot to vent your prejudices on everything from sports to politics. So you are a troll, and probably the biggest troll in the history of this message board community. If you wish to use that term, then let's be honest and acknowledge that you are far and away number one in that category. You are the GOAT.

Having said that, I have given plenty of compliments to Nadal over the years. NadalGoat2 never has a nice word to say about Djokovic on anything. And, as a matter of fact, I have complimented Nadal for his mindset and mentality on the court numerous times. I don't like what he did to Federer with all the medical timeouts, but in general I think he does have an excellent mindset and approach on the court.

As for "rewriting history," you are going on a rant because I objected to you equating Nalbandian's actions at Queens with what Djokovic did today. That comparison is beyond absurd. Nalbandian showed far more reckless disregard for another person than Djokovic did. Nalbandian had someone in his line of vision and kicked a board anyway. Djokovic was turning away and hit the ball with some annoyance.

Yes, and Nadal is totally innocent of such things. Sure. (By the way, I don't have a problem with Nadal doing this because I see it as a natural extension of the competitive mindset, I'm just calling out your hypocrisy):

Cahill makes a good point...the whole dynamic of the tournament just changed...the way players think about what the opportunities are, and how they approach them. Probably most clearly in the top half. What happens next? I think a poll is coming soon.

It will be a test of his nerves and focus. This will be the first time he’s expected to get to the final, as the highest seed in the top half.

Sorry for the late reply,I have been watching women match

Novak will keep his points between 2019 and 2020.so he keeps his 2019 Rd 4 points/
Thanks for the info. It seems then that the point penalty doesn't matter as he could only keep one anyway. Regardless, though, this will make his chase of Federer's weeks at number one record slightly harder. Nadal will stay only 1010 points behind and Djokovic has to hold on though the Australian Open. It could get interesting, although Djokovic should hold on.

Serena Williams never won another slam after the 2018 US open controversy so let’s see if this affects Novak Djokovic the same way.

djokovic should be banned from french open for the way he acted hitting a poor old woman in the neck with a tennis ball hurting her really badly than after skipping his press interview and running from everyone bring a bad name to tennis.

The DQ was like getting ejected for shoving a ref in the NBA. With a one game NBA suspension incoming

Serena Williams never won another slam after the 2018 US open controversy so let’s see if this affects Novak Djokovic the same way. I think he also used the same “I’m a mother” argument and said to the referees that he’s a good person because he’s a father so therefore he should be forgiven.
You must have forgot, 2018 wasn't her first controversy at the USO.
