Looks like my upset pick of the morning Steve Johnson isn't having any of it. He is about to go down two sets to love to Dimitrov.

Dimitrov has recovered well, seeing he had to retire in his match at Winston Salem, breathing problems and feeling dizzy

I think for Thiem he transitioned a bit too late for hard courts. His timing wasn’t there for his shots which is why there were a lot of errors. He also was unfortunate to run into someone who won the biggest title of his career a few weeks ago first round.

Thiem has to go back to playing challengers, he needs match play and to win matches, at a higher level, he is not getting the match play he needs now.

I agree with this. Thiem came back from his injury and he did well on Clay, but now it is a different ballgame for him.

Thiem hasnt won anything since coming back from his injury a couple of rounds of matches in tournaments, he is scheduled to play smaller ATP tournaments, to me going back to challengers and actually winning them at this stage is the way to go, he is a long way off, his former level

He did make a SF at the Swiss Open before losing to Berrettini and a few QF's. That is it. He hasn't won any tournaments though.

John Isner who I picked to do really well at the USO has won the first set 6-3 over Delbonis. I have him going all the way to face Nadal in the QF's before losing.

This match between Alcaraz and Baez is a fun match, great points from both players, raising their level, playing well at the same time
on serve early in the 2nd set, Alcaraz did have a break, Baez broke back.
