Let it go Nick for goodness sakes, stop having a go at your box for not standing up and cheering and sitting down at the wrong time?
Now blaming your box because you did not break...LOL!
3 all 3rd set
He has to run his mouth or at least shake his head between every single point. Ya know at least one set has to go to a tie breaker.

Tweener by Nick and a missed overhead smash by Kokkinakis. Then he tries to eat the tennis ball. :lulz1:

Thanasi really mixing up his serve in the 3rd set, good to see, a love service game from him, Nick having trouble reading the serve
Nick to serve to force a t/breaker in the 3rd set

A t/breaker for the 3rd set

Since reaching and the losing the 2021 RG Final, here are the slam results for Tsitsipas:

2021 Wimbledon: Loss 1R to Tiafoe
2021 US Open: Loss 3R to Alcaraz
2022 Australian Open: Loss SF to Medvedev
2022 Roland Garros: Loss 4R to Rune
2022 Wimbledon: Loss 3R to Kyrgios
2022 US Open: Loss to Galan

Basically, he is 12-6 and if you remove the 2022 AO result, he is 7-5 in Slams since 2021 RG Final.

By the way, he is in the Top 4 seeding wise in ALL six slams. It is why from now on, I will not count on Tsitsipas at Slams until further notice.

Agree, though he did have elbow issues today and had the trainer out, though Galan did deserved his win

He did have elbow issues and Galan played, BUT, as Top 5 player in the world (and Top 4 seeded player), you can not lose 6-0, 6-1 against a qualifier in the 1st two sets of a Slam.

Yep, I did say Galan did deserve his win, The Young Greek in his conference said he played like an amateur and Galan deserved his victory

Rafanoy,

Do you think The Young Greek is going down the same path as say Zverev in GS in ways? both have been to GS finals, both have lost,
Zverev having CH points and should have won in straights sets and The Young Greek ahead 2 sets to love and losing in 5 sets

Here's the difference between the two players though, Margaret:

Zverev is still winning big titles outside of Slams (500s, 1000s and ATP Tour) PLUS he has been consistent at Slams (4R and better). Zverev just can't beat Djokovic and Nadal at business end of slams.

Look at Zverev's slam results since 2020 US Open:

2020 RG loss to Sinner in 4R
2021 AO loss to Djokovic in QF
2021 RG loss to Tsitsipas in SF (5 sets)
2021 Wimbledon loss to FAA in 4R (5 sets)
2021 US Open loss to Djokovic in SF (5 sets)
2022 AO loss to Shapovalov in 4R
2022 RG loss to Nadal in SF (but got severely injured)

So, looking at Zverev's results, outside of the Shapovalov loss, he has been losing to good and great players (close ones too).

Zverev might able to sneak in a slam or two when Djokovic and Nadal finally retire

But, for Tsitsipas: These losses are just horrible, period!

Point taken with Tsitsipas, I have never taken to him as a player, mentally he is not good enough at this point in time to win a GS
Interesting to see how Zverev comes back on the tour, after his foot injury as well.

Patrick Mouratoglou tennis academy took a hit today, first with Simona Halep No 7th seed, going out to a youngster on debut in 3 sets, next Stefanos Tsitsipas No 4 seed, to a qualifier in 4 sets.

So does that mean he's done for the next 2 weeks or he'll hang around and see if anyone wants to pay him to talk.

Ruud better find and maintain good form because he got a big opportunity with Tsitsipas going out in his quarter. He got the same reprieve at RG if I’m not mistaken in Hune taking out Tsitsipas there.

Apparently with Tsitsipas his elbow was good enough to come back and win the 3rd set and then hang in there for the 4th set . When he lost 0-6, 1-6 and saw he was having issues with his elbow I thought he was going to withdraw. In his benefit he did attempt to turn it around and won the 3rd set and hung around in the 4th set. It was not enough and he was outplayed by Galan for sure.

I think he will be okay. At least for now. He will be tested later for sure and especially if he has to play Nadal.
