If Joe doesn't pressure Novak, he's not going to win toe-to-toe. And he loses the first set, with Novak not even serving that well. I'm not feeling it for Tsonga. He doesn't appear to be, either.

They are both playing below their potential, sloppy at times.

Certainly not inspiring, thus far.

How does Joe think standing so far behind the baseline and batting them back to Djoker is going to work for him?!

That overhead and combo was brave from Tsonga.

He is hitting his backhand normally, so I would say that it is OK for now. He did say that it was much better than at the start of the tournament.

I like what Brad said, that Tsonga doesn't manage his dips during a match as well as the very best guys.

The worrying thing is that Rafa is making a habit of losing matches when he's in control, or where he would have previously closed out. He's still lacking some confidence when he's pressed. (And @Carol: It's not Nadal's curse. It's his head.)
When I said Nadal's curse I wasn't referring to him but some of his opponents which after to beat him they lose the next match

Tsonga is having his left knee looked at, that's too bad.

6-3. 5-2..if Tsonga is going to make a match of it he needs to be in fedwimby2011qfmode.
