They should have gone to Bronx and selected the most dangerous looking guys for ball boys. Lets see if anyone will yell at them or next to them or if they will throw towels at them. In fact, I don't think any player would dare to ask for towels anymore.

MAYBE they should have finals -- where the ball boys RUMBLE on the court..
and catch balls mid-point ..and call out to each other talking about their girlfriends...and then they also shake the net -- hard...and then they extend their legs out to trip the player...it will be very entertaining...also if the players challenge the calls -- the ballboys give them the finger...and when the players walk past the ball boys the ballboys tell them: "you watch out when this game's over -- the other player's my boy....we're gonna see you at the car lot"...and when they give the ball to the player they aim for the neck, hard...

Yes, that was one of my ideas, that ball boys should for a change bully players not the other way around, but then it may be a little bit too entertaining for blood thirsty tennis crowd.

and also to add to these extra challenges -- the ball boys can also show how fast they run -- faster than the players -- to rub out the marks of the ball that are controversial...and the ball boys can first test that the towels are clean enough by wiping themselves before throwing it to the players...

this is all part of testing the athleticism of the players - and their mental fortitude under extreme pressure...

hehe...the ball boys can also SNEEZE loudly WHILE a player is serving...and wipe their nose with their palms before picking up the ball to hand to the player...the ball boys are allowed to spit anywhere on court...

It's a great idea, but all the likeliness is that ballboys will soon have blood and urine tested instead of the players.

they can solve that easily --they' can hide by putting all their urine in one bottle, shake it and distribute in small samples...lol...and put the names of any player...

Imagine Nadal lining up those bottles. Yikes!

hehe -- rafa likes to be very organized on cour.t..

he will say: ''please do not mix -- from left to right -- 6 am, 7 am, 8 am, etc..
"line one - left to right -- pasta diet, next line, fish diet, next line ..i borrowed from nole...next line, nole has to return to me....next line - 10 year old bottle from roger....next line first bottle my mothers, then my girlfriends...then tio tony...next line the umpire , ticket seller, photographer...the butcher in mallorca......".

''oh please don't touch nole bottle - nole said never to lend to ANDY again because andy always forgets to return bottles"...

Some of the matches last long past decent hours for kids, so USO has always had older ball people, as far as I can remember, especially during night matches.

And the schedule is up, Rafa will play on Monday during day, Nole in the night session.

Moxie and Teddy: I searched a little about why NY is called Big Apple and this is from Wiki page:

In the early 1920s, "apple" was used in reference to the many racing courses in and around New York City. Apple referred to the prizes being awarded for the races – as these were important races, the rewards were substantial.

The Big Apple was first popularized as a reference to New York City by John J. Fitz Gerald in a number of New York Morning Telegraph articles in the 1920s in reference to New York horse-racing. The earliest of these was a casual reference on May 3, 1921:

"J. P. Smith, with Tippity Witchet and others of the L. T. Bauer string, is scheduled to start for "the big apple" to-morrow after a most prosperous Spring campaign at Bowie and Havre de Grace."

Fitz Gerald referred to the "big apple" frequently thereafter

By the late 1920s, New York writers other than Fitz Gerald were starting to use "Big Apple" and were using it outside of a horse-racing context. "The Big Apple" was a popular song and dance in the 1930s.

By the 1960s, "the Big Apple" was known only as an old name for New York. In the early 1970s, however, the New York Convention and Visitors Bureau (now NYC & Company, the official marketing and tourism organization for New York City), under the leadership of its president, Charles Gillett, began promoting "the Big Apple" for the city. It has remained popular since then. Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani in 1997 signed legislation designating the southwest corner of West 54th St and Broadway, the corner on which John J. Fitz Gerald lived from 1934 to 1963, as "Big Apple Corner".

If I calculated correctly, in some 26 hours, we will have answer to billion dollar question - is No1e still hurt. I hope he isn't, but seems he is, Rafa too A Serbian journo Ozmo, aka Rafa's fan #1, watched his practice at Armstrong and he said rafa wasn't happy with his shots at all. No1e was nowhere to be seen on the grounds.

As for big servers, they won't make any problems to No1e if his wrist is fine, otherwise, it is better for No1e to exit early anyway.

What's the story with Novak's "personal problems" that are unrelated to the wrist? Any idea?

WHAT'S that about? i haven/t been up on their personal matters -- rumors or what\? i should hope not - he seems to have a wonderful father/husband life now .

in any case -- they're showing on tennis channel of course last year's finals -- and reminds of just how FINE NOLE was in his performance against roger. you almost forget it after being so used to his dominance these past few years now.
