It reminds me to Wawrinka AO 2014, one of the players withdrawn and another one retired , then at the finals his opponent had a back injury.
Could it happen again in this USO? hope not

to Brokenshoelace and everyone-- clearly RAFA'S forehand is not all there yet --but what do you and others think of it so far, THIS match?

Edmund got Isner! Biggest win of his career. Great job. The bad news is: now he has to play Djokovic.

that's ok for him even if he is probably not ready to take down the Great Nole. or any of the historic ones and much more accomplished ones than Isner.

the important thing is -- under big lights pressure against the ''insurmountable tower" for so many players - he showed he can do a win in this manner -- one that is a necessary ingredient to become someday a big time player of his own.

we all are familiar with this in life in anything..some people have an ''it'' factor. and this was his little window and he opened it wide. to show he has quality to be one of the best of his generation when they take their turn.

The first set Rafa played insane. his forehand, backhand and serve worked incredible well but in the second set like in his previous match he took out the foot from the accelerator and he made more errors but he will be back

i'm liking what i see from nadal - especially a certain growing renewed energy in his playing. but also becoming more concentrated as he used to

see -- that's my problem -- i MISSED the first set!! i had to go out do something...so i had no good idea ''from what level" - when i got back to catch up from the second set second half..but i was still happy with his fighting and then winning that .

3 Brits in Round 3 for the first time since 1968.

i'm actually trying to imagine some years from now when they are ready -- the 2 kids could make a real chance for themselves to get HOME TURF just like andy has -- wouldn't THAT be nice?

it's also GREAT for KUZNETSOV to at least get this far -- but of course is a DIFFERENT plane. hehe.

The Russian is taking all the risk that he can just in case it would work, and sometimes it has worked well but.......

it's the only chance he could to gain some games. rafa is just finding his range better and better ..

kuznetsov is pretty solid also -- but just not against the best of the best.

but WOW -- what a SCRAMBLE BY KUZNETSOV -- he DESERVES that applause -- even if he lost the point. NICE from him...

haha --r afa is so excited!!

Kuznetzov made an effort for one set, but Rafa totally out-classed him. Good hitting off of both wings. Some great serving, some not. Hasn't dropped a set yet.

i ADMIRE the way rafa always has something GOOD to say , i mean with SUBSTANCE , about his opponents. that's one reason i liked him from the beginning.

i remember VERY clearly still the VERY first time i saw him when he was winning some little tournament just before he went pro - on some news clip on tv...

he was interviewed to be ''a phenom" after he won a match -- and the first thing out of his mouth to the PRAISES about him:

"you should see my friends too - they are so good".

it was THAT very moment - and with his playing (going to NET so often!!)
that i consciously said to myself:

"i will be fan of this VERY talented yet modest young player".

so true. kuznetsov can keep building on an already pretty solid young career as mcenroe pointed out -- and one of the best ways is to learn from meeting a Living Legend on fire.
