TB Simon/Lorenzi, and this will be the longest match of the tournament so far.
I do think it might be a bit harsh. Zverev is only 19 and about a year into his breakthrough. Thiem is older, but he's played (and won) a lot of tennis this year. (He's #5 in the YE points race.) And, as you mention, he's still in the tournament. We've been looking for break-through players for 5-6 years, but not the same ones. You're talking about the miscreants that we call the Lost Generation. There is a new crop with some real potential, in varying degrees, but they may take some time to season up to Major winning level. You've got to give them a little time. Hell, Dimitrov has been "the player to be named later" for something like 8 years now, and we're still wondering if he can win a Major. Tomic still gets talked about, ffs. Kyrgios is the real deal, if he can manage his head. And he's still in the tournament, too. I'd give it some time before I got discouraged about them. Superstar teenagers only come up once in a couple of generations, anyway.I hate to sound critical of the young guns but there was a lot of hype earlier in the year, especially Thiem and Zverev and they have fizzled out quite a bit as the season has dragged on (granted Thiem is still alive in this tourney). I think a lot of fans and even commentators want some new blood so badly that they prop these guys up. I do think Zverev especially has great potential but we've been saying the same about a lot of guys the past 5-6 years.
Actually, you never know which Fabio you're going to get, and that's what's so fun about him.Fog don't give a shit, he has Flavia to go home to
Entertaining and talented player but in the end you know what you're getting with him.
Great win for Dan Evans taking out Sascha Zverev.
happy to see Delpo cruising, vamos Juan

What are the chances of Del Potro beating Murray should they meet in the semis?
is that the reason you asked yesterday what he served like from that side?
(side note: I DO NOT KNOW what that means -- after all these decades of watching tennis...WHICH is the ad side and what do you even CALL the other side? i NEVER learned what those are, so please educate me , anyone).
I would say 50/50 .. del Potro have shorter season than Murray, he played just 27 matches this year against 57 played by Andy. Both of them have great form in last weeks, so the rest level can play a role ...
I am little divided about who to support in such semifinal match. I wish Murray to finish this season with another Grand Slam to put himself in clear contender position to Djokovic as next number one. But I also wish the win to delPotro, would be a great story, win US Open, then long lasting injury and then return on court and win US Open again
o.k. now back to reality, we are just in 3rd round, there is long road for both of them to be in semifinal
Yup, I noticed he changed his positioning when serving from the ad side at the Olympics. Unfortunately he's still doing it.
As far as which side is the ad side and which one is the deuce side: Let's say the server is serving from "down" your screen. The ad side of the court is when he's serving from the left. The deuce side is when he's serving from the right. The first point of the game is always served from the deuce side, which means that every point at deuce will occur from that same side.
