So impressed by Giorgi. She plays the kind of controlled constant aggressive tennis I'd love to see Federer bring against Nadal. Still very young and definitely a future top 10 player. She played like one tonight.

Wow. I hope Caroline goes back and watches this match. She played way behind the baseline and was content with just keeping the ball in play. During the final game, she flatened out the ball and stepped into the court. Unfortunately she only did it for a few points. Lindsey wondered why she didn't so it all the time. IMO she played "scared" tennis; constantly waiting for Giorgi to make mistakes while looking stunned when the ball whizzed by her right and left. What happened to her aggressive game plan? I am starting to lose hope that she can change her game for an entire match.

Congrats to Giorgi who played well - but - it's more Caroline that wasn't there mentally because she should have beaten the Italian - but it was not to be. I'll stick to A Rad until she's out. Caroline has to have a mental coach together with new inspiration from outside the Addidas team. :nono

Can't help but like little Camila. Only the second time I have watched her play, last time at Wimbledon, last year on the tube as well. Great power from such a slender frame! Was a joy to watch. Caroline again stumbles in the Big Show events. Just not enough power, always running back and forth across the court. Sort of sorry for her, but take nothing away from the sweet Italian. Makes for an interesting matchup in the next round with Vinci.
As for the other Italian, Flavia is playing like she played in the US Open in 2009, in both singles and doubles. I am glad to see her coming back strongly after labouring for over two years. At 31 she still can bring it. Saw her play at Eastbourne, and also heading to the players restaurant, she was dressed to the nine's, stunningly attractive!:)

I watched the entire match and I kinda agree, it was also the fearless Italian qualifier who went for broke whenever she had a chance. Her stats show this, 46 winners and 45 unforced errors.

Caroline did very little to change the pace of the game, she was being outgunned constantly.

Why is she being outgunned? She is bigger that Giorgio and is an excellent mover. Caro has power, I swear I have seen it during her matches, lol; she chooses to "disappear" during her matches and wait for mistakes. She knows she does this, her father knows, other players know, yet she is powerless to stop this passive type of play. I guess that I am asking if she ever will or can change?

It would be a travesty if Woz is still in the top ten after the Open. She's had ONE good tournament this year, Indian Wells, and when was the last time she made past the third round of a slam?

She actually made it to R16 at AO this year losing that weird 3-setter to Sveta.

She will probably fall out of top 10 but on the other side of the coin, look at her competition, they have not done any better, all the ladies in her bracket(top 5 to top 10) have been losing as well.
This includes Samantha, Petra, Sara and the retired Marion.

I think there is no question Woz will remain in the top ten after USO. She is defending no points. This shows how erratic the other players near her have been.

Wow, Woz will be kicking herself for weeks. She had the easiest bracket and couldn't do anything to make the QF or SF.
